....I will NEVER pre order anything again....

Unless it's rare, or one of 5 made, there is no benefit whatsoever to pre-ordering - at least from best buy. I could have Recieved the SleepAway camp DVD set the morning it was released for $21.99 by going to the store. But NOO, i decided to pay $26.99 and not have the movie ship untill 3 days after it's released, even though i ordered a month in advance...

Yea, am supposed to get a $10 digital coupon (which they will probably botch) but i would much rather just get it from the store....

ARRGGHH...

yea ive pretty much learned this lesson also

i order online (or preorder) for obscure shit, like Guinea Pig: Devils Experiment for instance, or for stuff i know i will have trouble finding, like Shriek Show titles

but for mainstream/common shit like the Sleepaway Camp Box or most other AB stuff, i just go look in best buy a week early

I will never pre-order again.
Even shit I think will be obsure pops up somewhere in town.
I cancelled my Sleepaway Camp pre-order and got it 1/2 a week early.

I don't bother with preording. I stopped doing that long ago. Just go to Best Buy the week it's released and chances are it'll be on sale for a decent price. No sales tax in my state either, which is another plus.

i never pre-order stuff. i figure with the amount of stores near where I live, i can easily find stuff (be it dvds or whatever) on the day/week it comes out. plus, there are usually promotional sales going on! :)

Yea.... I still love ordering shit oline though.. Many times I'll order DVD's.... just not re-order ones... You know, I'll just order regular dvd's that are already out -- no problems there.

Matt

P.S. Damn, when is Orgazmo coming out? I sold my Boot DVD 4 months ago, thinking i would get it right away...

the only problem I have with BB is that when they adjusted the price 2 times on Sleepaway that it took that much extra of of my credit card. When I bought it at 37.00 my card reduced by that much. Then they reduced the price to 31.00 that took my card down another chunk. Then when the shipped it the changed the price to 25.00 and that reduced my card another chunk. So now my cc is almost out of cash due to these "pending" charges even though only the most recent is actually on my account. So it only cost me 93.00 to get this set and now I can't order anything else until they release the remainder of my money.

Hello...

I thought that they only charged your card WHEN it shipped. I believe that's the case with mine. The only charge made to my card was confirmed in an email when it shipped... Hhmm..

Thanks,

matt

I have an online only card and when I place an order that money automatically comes off of the cards availiable funds. So when I placed the order the card was reduced by 37.00. Then when they reduced the price that took another 31.00 off of the card instead of giving me back the extra money. Then when they shipped the set they charged my card for 25.00 but never released the other funds. My cc company told me that they authorized the charges to make sure funds were still there but now I have to wait until they release the extra $ that they processed the 1st 2 times. I hope the way I described this makes sense.

I preordered the Sleepaway Camp set because my Best Buy never gets stuff in on time, and also because I'm in no big hurry to see the movies. Plus with the $10 thing it's really cheap, if they give it to me, I think it's supposed to come in my mail today. No big deal to me, but I can understand where you guys are coming from.

Like DefJeff said, I never pre-order unless its something REALLY obscure. I can always find what I need in stores.

Well,

One good thing did come out of the pre-order.. I used the coupon ad got the Simpsons Season 2 DVD boxset for 23.00 SHIPPED to the house... Not bad :)

Oh yea, i saw the simpsons set in BB for 59.00 when it first came in -- i think they changed that price though...

Thanks,

Matt
