Hey did anyone see the commercial for the game last night? It was being played during WWF Monday Night Raw. It was great. The commercial went like this:

This guys laying in a hospital with his arm covered up. The doctor looks over at him and says, "Are you ready to take a look?" The guy hesistantly mutters, "Yeah.". The doctor pulls off the towel to reveal a chainsaw attached to the guys' arm just like Ash. The man smiles and says, "Ah thats PERFECT!" The doctor than pulls the tray that his arm was resting on away and his arm drops down the the floor and the man falls to the floor too moaning, "Oh God." Then the doctor looks down at him as the man states, "Got anything smaller?".

Then the show clips of the game from the Dreamcast version with the background voice statin: "All you need is a chainsaw and a shotgun to be just like Bruce Campbell in Evil Dead : Hail to the King."

Then they show the man outside his house trimming his hedges with his new hedgetrimmer" arm (He went wayyy smaller). Bruce walks out from next door and says, "Hey is that suppose to be a chainsaw?" The man replies, "Hey, you want a piece of this?" and throws out his arms. He then says, "Yea. I didnt think.. " Then he frowns and Bruce sprints across his yard as the man takes off into the street. Bruce is yelling, "Come on you freak! Take it like a man!" Then the man is yelling, "HELP Bruce Campbell's chasing me!"

BTW the playstation version of the game is shipping this week to most retailers nationwide.

Too sweet! Know when the commercial will be on again? I'll tape it and throw it up on the site for download.

Can't wait for that game. I think I'll hold out till Christmas to get it.

The commercial will most likely be on during WWF or WCW wrestling since the company THQ releasing Hail to the King does games for those companies.

For anyone interested, here's igndc's preview of the game, with some screenshots:

Slated to come out in a couple weeks (pushed back from Halloween, dammit!) I'll definitely be getting it.

IGN's got a review up on their site for it. Suffice it to say after reading it I'm less jazzed about it...

Yeah the Playstation version is kind of disappointing due mostly to it's limited graphics and processing power of the Playstation. The Dreamcast and PC version hopefully will be a lot better. I didn't really have high expectations for it.

Man, this game is f**king hard!!! The deadites were whipping my ass left and right. (Too bad, The Chin's chainsaw doesn't have unlimited fuel!) The graphics/sound are excellent and the gameplay is adequate. (DC version) Maybe I'm used to RE style controls. It's a cool game (so far) but it's frustrating as hell!

Well after finally getting my hands on the PSX version of it, I gotta say that I'm pleasantly surprised with it. Sure, it's a little tough in spots and the re-generating Deadites piss me off but I'm still glad I got it.

And this is coming from a guy who can't stand the Resident Evil games...

True, re-generating enemies suck ass!
Django, say it aint so. http://www.horrordvds.com/forum/wink.gif What didn't you like about the Resident Evil games?
IMO, Resident Evil 2 is the best of the survival horror genre. Silent Hill and Dino Crisis are close behind.

Have you played Resident Evil: Code Veronica for the Dreamcast? I ask because IMO it blows part 2 out of the water!

Jasondog, I agree. Veronica is definitely superior to Part 2 in terms of story and graphics. For me, Part 2 was more memorable. Also, Leon was one cool motherf**ker! http://www.horrordvds.com/forum/wink.gif

I didn't enjoy the endless wandering around while constantly capping zombies in the head when conventional wisdom is one shot does the trick. And I really don't like the whole idea of saving the game only when you have one of those stupid tapes.

Which I know Evil Dead does also, but at least there you've got a chainsaw that works without any gas and a taunt button that eases the boredom...
