View Full Version : Lisa Wilcox not on for 'Freddy vs. Jason' :-(
One another related note, Lisa Wilcox was also at DragonCon. I asked her about the rumors she was in discussions for FvJ and she gave it to me straight. Her agent contacted New Line and told them Lisa was willing to work on the movie for scale if they flew her up to Canada to do it and put her up in a Hotel. New Line wouldn't go for it though so she will not be appearing.
She was one of the big things i was looking forward to,aside from seeing Freddy again. For everyone that cares... i encourage you to send an email,a NICE,POLITE,WELL THOUGHT-OUT email to Stokely Chaffin,a Freddy vs. Jason executive,at: stokely.chaffin@newline.com and ask them to give Lisa some sort of part.It may not do any good, but it never hurts to try.

I really think New Line should go all out in getting cast members from the old Friday and Elm Street films to come out for some small part. People who this film is targetted to are going to see it because they love each respective villains previous films, so having actors like Wilcox, Amy Steele, Dana Kimmell (:D) and Corey Feldman would only help the film at the B.O. I hope New Line reconsiders about Wilcox!

As far as I'm concerned, they already fucked this movie up royaly when they cast Kelly Rowland as the lead actress. I fucking HATE singers in films, especially one with no talent straight out of Destiny's Douche. NL has their heads loged FIRMLY up their asses.
Here is what all the guy from the friday board said:
I have had many encounters with celebrities at conventions over the years some good and some bad. I'd have to place Kane in the "bad" category, he didn't seem too happy to be there or too eager to talk to anyone, at least that I saw. However I didn't take it personally and I did get to talk to him a little bit. Most of the things he said have been discussed here but he clarified them a bit. He declared adamantly that it wasn't definite that he wouldn't be in FvJ but admitted he wasn't asked yet. He talked about how the actors that auditioned for the role simply had cameras focused on their eyes while they reacted to five pages of dialogue. He was angry that he wasn't given a chance to show that he could also emote, "They didn't even ask me!" he said. He stated several times that the people in charge of the movie don't know the history of the characters involved and aren't interested in it. He said he hadn't read a script and hadn't read many of the different versions in the past few years. Kane hadn't heard anything about Brad Loree but seemed to think it was "possible." He said a few other things about FvJ and Jason X that I can't remember at the moment but I just got home and I'm tired. If more things come to me tomorrow I'll post them. By all means ask me questions and if I have an answer I'll give it.

I'm still hopeful but not as optimistic as I was a month ago.
They never even asked Kane. And apparently the people in charge don't give a shit about the character's history, either.

Damn, that's sucky news that Lisa won't appear.
I was hoping Freddy vs. Jason would be a reunion of sorts with old cast members. There's are gaps between Nightmare 5-6 and FT13 8-9-X that could be filled in - but they probably won't.
I'm a bit concerned that they're shooting it in Canada. Hey, I'm a Canadian, but I think it affects the look and feel of a movie when shot outside of the United States. Jason X and Halloween Resurrection (the latter I haven't seen yet) were both shot in Canada. There's a slight difference between Vancouver and Toronto productions, but they both have a lo-budget made-for-TV feel to them. Why else would Americans shoot in Canada if not to save money?
I friggin hate singers in films too. It's rare for one to be talented in acting and singing, so the films usually suffer. I guess singers have as much audience-draw, but lower asking prices to appear in movies, as opposed to talented big name actors.
In the 80's horror was associated with heavy metal music. In the 90's, rap music came into play.

Always wondered what happend to Alice after Nightmare 5...did the Dream Master eventually fall to Freddy? Was her son "collected" by Freddy as well?
Guess we'll never know!

I agree. I did see Jason X... so clearly you are correct. Anyone who thought that was a good script to shovel $20 million at is pretty much brain dead.

Todd farmer's initial draft was actually a pretty decent script. It would've made for a good Friday movie, but Cunningham had to "fix" it.Which leaves us with the garbled mess of a film known as Jason X.
I don't know why Cunningham even continues his involvement in the Friday series,he's said many times he doesn't care about it.

I didn't think Jason X was so bad, but most of the FvJ news I've heard, including this, has been disappointing. While Jason X is a standalone and really could be whatever the writer/director/studio wanted, I think there is a lot of potential for FvJ to have a real nostalgiac, for-the-fans kind of feel to it, and it doesn't seem that New Line is interested in this angle.

Funny you mention Bond, I heard on a local news channel awhile back that Will Smith said he wants to play the role and finally have a "real Man" play the part.
NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!
According to a casting agent on the film,Brad Renfro is now out as 'Will' the lead character. They are looking to re-cast and start Monday as scheduled.
Hrm.... Corey Feldman is free.:)

There was a very good 'official' six part comic series from Innovation that picked up after part 5. And the amnesiac kid on the plane in Freddy's Dead is supposed to be Jacob, althoguh that got lost in all the re-writes to make the film as bad as possible.
I was really hoping for a good movie from FVJ, especially given all the time spent on it, but it really doesn't soud good. I hope Englund at least makes a fuss about any continuity screw-ups, he siad he regretted not making a stir over FD.
