At last, no more delays, no more 'pressing errors' or 'copyright issues', Barrel Entertainment have finally released LHODES. (Arrived today.)
The package is excellent, the extras are stunning (love that cheesy trailer!), and the picture and sound are better than anyone's ever seen before.
Best horror DVD of the year, no question! It's a must-buy if ever there was one.
(My advice to anyone in the UK wanting a copy is movietyme.com)

Mine shipped from dvdplanet today too!!!
The hassles and delays did suck. But atleast Barrel kept us all informed every step of the way. They deserve credit for that.
To those that have already received this, is the case double thick or is it in a standard sized keepcase with an extra disc holder?

I sure wish Grindhouse could do that. :( Still no word about any of their releases. They don't answer their emails also. Oh well, maybe next year?

i got an email that said it was backordered at dvd planet. excuse me while i go in the corner and cry like a lil bitch.:cry:
The case is double thick, like the Anchor Bay 2-disc releases.
By the way, the booklet that came with my copy has two totally blank pages which is obviously a printing error- anyone else have this problem?

actually someone said dvd planet was having website troubles. it still said in stock. maybe it shipped i havent been told yet...who knows.

an update for me, not that anyone cares. i emailed dvd planet and they sent me this:
"It appears that "last house on dead end street" has been invoiced, and ready to
be shipped out to you. Be advised, though, that our warehouse is
currently catching up on shipping out its orders. However, this title will be
shipped out to you as soon as possible. Our progess at our warehouse is
excellent, considering the few technical errors that our computers had suffered
within this past week." ok makes sense. same thing happened to andrew i belive. oh well, it will be here soon.

Well, After I already received a shipping confirmation email from DVDPlanet for LHODES on friday, I got a second email this morning saying the same exact thing they've told WEZ, and Andrew.
I called them up and (politely) complained. They were very helpful and said they would ship it out today via expressmail (!). Even though the problem was handled quite well I'm still really unimpressed with their poor communication. I mean, I was expecting the damned disc today but instead I get an email saying it's still sitting in California :mad:

You might want to give them a call and check. From the sounds of things nobody's orders processed after tuesday of last week have actually shipped yet (due to system errors). LHODES arrived at DVDPlanet on wed or thurs. The "shipping confirmation" emails weren't accurate. The customer rep. also said that the pre-orders out numbered the stock quantity, and we all know how long it takes for Barrel titles to re-stock:nervous:

I plan to order mine from DVD Empire in a couple weeks. Seems to be about the cheapest; $26.21, though Digital Eyes has it for $24.95. It may go up now that it isn't preorder though.

I don't know. I checked tower, because they have NEKROMANTIC (so I'd think they'd carry this too), but no dice. You'd probably be better off getting it online.

yea so i came home from work today to find an email from dvdplanet.com
they said that my order actually hasnt shipped (even tho they told me it did last friday) and that they will email me when it does finally ship (no date givin to when it will ship)
what a lame site, ill never order from them again
im tempted to tell them to just refund me and ill order it somewhere else, but who knows how that would work out with the douchebags running things there!

Got mine from dvdplanet today too!, of course this was only because I called and got the ball rolling. Unfortunately I have to work O.T. tonight so it'll be hours before I get a chance to actually view it. The packaging/booklet are pretty cool though. And the double-case didn't have any wrinkles!

Your's arrived from them on monday? How do you rate? I had to practically pull teeth to get mine today.
I threw it into the player right when I got home from work. This is by far Barrel's best release. I haven't gone through all of the extras yet like the short films or the radio interview. But I did give it a pretty good go over. I've already seen the film countless times on my old SUN vhs copy. So I watched the movie itself with the commentary on. A really good,energetic track. Some of the coverage I had already read in various interviews on the net, but there was still alot of untouched ground that gets covered. The booklet is really great, one of the best dvd inserts I've read yet.
I kept an open mind with the latest Necrophagia video. And I still can't say I care for these "tribute videos" of theirs at all...In this one they try to act it up a little more and even throw in a cheesy necronomicon prop and crude claymation for spice. Besides a few clips from the film there is no tribute feel at all to LHODES.

I hate :fire: Necrophagia, they almost ruined THE BEYOND disc for me.
Got another order confirmation by the way :nervous:. This one coulda been a "shipping" confirmation though, but that'd be my second as well. Either way if I get charged double I'm gonna complain like some shit. But if I get two for the price of one then maybe I'll sell it...the disc does have a $35 retail :glasses:

How do I rate? I preordered this disc a long time ago from them, so maybe I was one of the first and thats why I got it on Monday. I don't know, but I got it Monday, and I'm happy! :D

so i finally got this disc today and i watched the flick
it was pretty good, altho not as shocking or vile as i expected
those masks the people wore were really creepy and that dismemberment scene was dope as hell
