I always had a soft spot for those sequels, I thought part 2, 3 & 4 were kinda good actually. Haven't seen 5 yet but I just bought 6 & 7 on DVD.
Anyways, which one is your fave?

I always had a sweet spot for Part IV too. Remember renting it when it came out.

Actually...it's awesome. :D And yes, Naomi Watts id hot! :eek1:

I have all the COTC movies on DVD, except for part 3. Should get that one too, but it still has a high retail price. Strange that Disney dropped the retail price on part 5, 6 &7, but not part 3 (and 4 I think).

I had to go with part 4 only for the lovely Naomi Watts.

I regrettably haven't seen much of the CORN sequels, but I've been meaning to check out Part 4 for Naomi's sake. I heard she gives the audience a little more than a smile in the movie too. :D

I like them all even though I know they all kind of stink. My horror standards are quite low. :glasses:

Seven years later and I still haven't seen 4 or virtually all of the sequels. I'm really hoping to rectify that this October, but who knows...I wish Dimension would issue some sort of cheapie box set. No love for Isaac's Return? That's pretty cool that they brought back the little guy for another kick at the can, since the rest of them look like they have zero to do with the original anyway.

Children of the Corn 2 is good, I remember liking it and had hoped Legend would bring it out with their Paramount ventures. They used this weird visual effect from the corn's perspective that's all red and black if I remember. I have had part 6 for years just because they brought back Isaac (I will support generally any sequel in this day and age where they actually bring back actors/characters or make a conscious effort to continue on a storyline), but have been waiting for a cheapie set (or even for all the singles to lower in price to the $6 range) for years now, too.

EDIT: And, there was this really cute girl I used to pine over back when I was around 9 in COC II. I remember recording it off of Superchannel in the middle of the night when my mom happened to fall asleep on the couch. She woke up at the part where I thought I was gonna get a tit shot, and I freaked out and changed the channel. There was no tit shot anyways, the cold-hearted fucks.

Glad to see so many people liked parts II and IV. They're my other favorites.

I would have voted for "The Howling sequels are better," because they are (from what I've seen- Part III alone) but I really think Part V: Fields of Terror is the best movie of the bunch (of sequels).

None of the sequels were very good, or original... but if I had to pick one it would be The Final Sacrifice.

The only one that was close to a decent film was Part IV. Very glad that they decided to do away with the mythology and just try to tell a spooky story.

Ahem... Uh, Howling VII: New Moon Rising? Really? I'd take any of the corn sequels over that torture session any day!

II-IV were very entertaining, V was bad... but had a few amusing moments. I haven't seen the others yet... a little hesitant.

II gets my vote.

Chunk and I had fun reviewing these on the site last year. For me, 1, 3 and 4 are very entertaining, 5 and 7 are moderately enjoyable, 2 has its moments and 666 and Genesis are (literally in Genesis) wrecks. The best part about the series is that it has been so low rent for so long that you kind of know they'll keep churning out sequels every so often. While with your Freddys, Jasons and Michaels, the higher profile means there's a lot more stars that need to align before we ever get sequels.

Re-watched 2 for the first time in almost 14 years. It's a fun slice of cheese with more gore than I remember it having. Shocked it went to theaters. Feels direct to video.

it was like every sequel was a reset.

i agree on pretty much every point, although i would put genesis slightly above 666. i don't remember much about that particular one, but i recall my impression being more positive than it was after 666 - that one was just bottom of the barrel.

The Gathering is easily the best.
