I'm going to be relocating to the Chicago area in a few months and was wondering if anybody knows of any COOL video stores in Chicago or any of the thousands of surrounding cities. THANKS!

i used to live in chicago. i dont know if there still open but there was a place called Video Update. they had a sweet horror selection and every tuesday you could rent 2 older movies for 99 cents. i havent lived there for a few years (close to 4) so i dont know if there are still there or even doing that deal.

Edit: they have multible stores so if they are still open, it shouldnt be hard to find one.

Funny, I just got back from a great little store...

A place called "QED Laser" in Westmont, IL is amazing, they rent dvd's, but it's 95% retail sales. I live on the west side of Chicago (around Ashland and Chicago); it's about a 30 min drive. They carry imports and will have the greatest selection of dvd's anywhere in the Chicagoland area!

They have prices that often beat Best Buy - (they take 20% off all dvd purchases!) once your in the area, be sure to check this place out! The people who work there are true fans of film, they very helpful and will order any title you could imagin!

QED Laser

Check them out, you'll be glad you did!

Welcome to the Windy City! Your obvious choice is going to be a store called....ready for this (?), House Of Monsters--at the intersection of North/Damen/Milwaukee. It's only open on weekends, but surely will be your "one-stop horror shop" while you're in the city.

You'll be the proverbial "kid in a candy store"!
