What are the rarest horror videos you own? I'm talking about ones that took you a long time to track down or ones that are the hardest to find in your opinion.

For me...

LAS VEGAS SERIAL KILLER
BLACK DEVIL DOLL FROM HELL
HORROR HOUSE ON HIGHWAY 5
LUNCH MEAT
OZONE! ATTACK OF THE REDNECK MUTANTS
SPLATTER FARM
EVIL NIGHT
555
SLEDGEHAMMER
THE HEREAFTER
DON'T GO NEAR THE PARK

...and two that I'm still looking for are SPINE and MAD RON'S PREVUE'S FROM HELL.

BLACK DEVIL DOLL FROM HELL - that movies sucks ass! I have VHS copy of it.

Let's see:

Hardgore
Claimity Of Snakes
Black Magic
Black Magic 2
Hey! There's naked bodies on my tv!
Cleopatra Wong

I have a ton of others - but I gave out all my VHS tapes to my friend - needed the space for my DVDs.

I had a video of Bloodsuckers from Outer Space, which was really shitty if I remember correctly. That's the only one I own that I would call rare, but I'm not even sure if that would be considered rare or not.

I'm actually after Horror House on Highway 5, 555, and Don't Go Near the Park. Are these originals? If so, are you willing to sell them? ;)

Rare ones I own:

Blue Paradise
Confessions of a Blue Movie Star
Death Wish Club
Dr. Caligari
Escape
Headless Eyes
Keep My Grave Open
The Lift
Nightmare Circus
Sisters of Satan
Splatter: Architects of Fear
Strange Shadows in an Empty Room
Treasure of the Amazon

The Dark DVD (Neve Campbell, went OOP within a week of it's release, not a great flick, but decent)

Zombie Toxin (this one always gets reactions when I show it to people)

The Bloody Video Horror That Made Me Puke on My Aunt Gertrude
(yup, I slapped down $20 bucks for this lousey home video, but the title always gives people a laugh... then a shock when I actually show them the tape)

Curse of the Blue Lights (a guilty pleasure if ever there was one, and if I'm not mistaken it is long out of print)

Santa Sangre NC-17 (out of print and a great film, I await the release of the DVD)

Most of my rare movies were rare at one time, like Cannibal Holocaust on DVD and the Japanese print of Brain Dead (Dead Alive), which is the longest version. I have the Cradle of Fear VHS. I also have teh UNCUT version of the 2nd B&W Godzilla movie in Japanese with english subs. I also used to have Dragonball Z movies years and years before it was ever shown on US TV.

I think the rarest movies i have are the workprint of `Charlies Family` (copied of course!) which still hasnt been released on any format! and the horror which is `Fantom Killer` on VHS which is a fun flick with plenty of hot lookin Euro babes.

Um, I think these two are OOP, my "rarest" flicks I guess:

Mark Of Cain (Canadian slasher, directed by Bruce Pittman)
Let's Scare Jessica To Death (They're still selling copies at ebays)

I guess i would have to go with Fight for your life on vhs but once the dvd comes out it won't be so rare. Who was putting this out again? It was Blue Underground wasn't it?

STREET TRASH - the version of DON'T GO NEAR THE PARK to get is (was) under the title NIGHTSTALKER on Thriller Video. From what I understand, the other two versions are missing footage. Then again, it may not be worth pursuing, if you get my drift...

For the record, there's nothing rare about a dupe.

The rarest tape I own is the original TV pilot version of Mulholland Drive which a friend gave me at least 6 months in advance of it's theatical release. It's a dupe, but I consider it rare mainly because I know of very few people who even know of it's existence, much less seen it.

Every thing else I have in my collection could probably be found on ebay within a few weeks.

I don't own anything especially rare OR uncommon for that matter, at least nothing video related. I do have a mint dustjacket for the first edition of Stephen King's Salem's Lot (which I have no idea where that is at the moment, otherwise that would be on ebay in an instant)

rarest thing I own... not a DVD.. but its the Creepshow comic book!

I used to have a copy of it and thought that it was rare too. Granted, it's OOP, but still easily had for a few more bones....

I don't really have much that is rare, just a handful of OOP DVDs which wouldn't fetch much, even on eBay.

I guess the rarest videos I own are the UK videos of Mardi Gras Massacre and Psycho from Texas. Neither film is much good, but they are funny in a bad kinda way. However, the latter is memorable for having a very early full-frontal nude scene with Linnea Quigley. :D

I have nothing that is rare or valuable on video or DVD.

I have some autographed CD's (Joan Jett, Eve's Plum, Jeffrey Gaines, Clan Of Xymox, Foo Fighters, Naked, 98 Degrees, an d others) from my days of working for a music retailer, and a few books, of which my prize possesion is an autographed copy of Anne Rice's "Tale Of The Body Thief" from my days of working for a book retailer (I had to sleep with someone to get that book!!!)

These have both been recently released on UK R2 DVD with anamorphic transfers and Carpenter commentaries. But I guess in the US they're still pretty rare.

Not here!! Jack Frost is going for big bucks in the U.S. Is the UK DVD
in widescreen or Fullscreen?

It's fullscreen and probably not the greatest transfer either. But then, I've been none-too-impressed with A-Pix's discs either.

Hey dont rare versions of films count?

The only film i would consider particuarlly rare is my friends copy of 'hardrock zombies' (vhs!) . its absolutely terrible, an hour and a half rubbish music video with some badly acted zombies from a lame 80's rock band. but we sure as hell enjoyed watching it!

Nothing too noteworthy about it. It's pretty much the film up until the lesbian sex scenes, minus the scenes in the diner near the beginning with the guy in the back alley. It might not be necessary viewing, but it's pretty neat to see what could have been.
