Just saw this last night. Great, creepy movie, but I had trouble with the end.

Basically I didn't understand it. So did the ghost kill the mother???? This kind of confused me. Shed some light if you will please.

I think the mother sacrificed herself for her daughter so yes, the ghost killed her.

Yes, I think the mother sacrificed herself in the tank so she could be mom to the dead girl. How about the imagery: water everywhere, and the recurring 7, as in the age of the girl and the floors of the building...cool.

Any recommendations for other films like this are welcome. I have Uzumaki, St. Johns Wort, and Ring (of course) which also blow me away with the visuals.

Maybe you should try Ring 2, Ring Virus (korean remake of Ring) and Kairo (Pulse). They should fit the bill.

If you stray into more "artsy" fare there's Kim Ki-Duks excellent The Isle.
