Black Christmas as a scary movie. Love the "unhappy ending", but Gremlins as a comedy (that's really how I see it).

BLACK CHRISTMAS easily get's my vote too, but I do love SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT too. SN,DN has to be one of the best cheese classics of the 80's.

Sure was...but it was kind of for the horror Jack Frost film. But since neither will get votes, why not combine them for one selection. ;)

I voted for Silent Night Deadly Night because I adore that movie and watch it every Christmas Eve. Black Christmas was a close second.

I apologize for bringing this thread back a little premature but what the hell......my vote goe to Jack Frost...one of the best horror parodies ever...In my opinion it accomplishes the same same thing as Scream and did so in much better fashion

Gremlins. That movie is just too friggin awsome. I can't remember, did the sequel take place on christmas? Because the sequel was a very good film.

Black Christmas comes real close, but Christmas Evil has some personal nostalgia for me. I've been watching it every christmas for a while now, along with Santa Clause Conquers the Martians (GREAT movie, a must see for the holidays no matter what religion you are)

Black Christmas - Hell, this gem is creepy from the opening scene. Even the version of "Silent Night" you hear at the very beginning is one of the most haunting I've ever heard! :nervous:

In terms of "Xmas movies" I would go for Nightmare Before... as I simply love every aspect of it.
But I voted for Silent Night, Deadly Night because that has been my holy grail of DVD until last month.
Can't beat a good punishment at Christmas. Escpecially at those lunches with the in-laws/extended family. Where are the antlers when you need them?

Black Christmas is one of the greatest horror films ever made and was very influencial on future slashers although I did like the first Silent Night Deadly Night too.

Have to agree. Both are great, but really different.
