My friend saw an advance copy screener at his friends house and said it sucked ass. And I really wouldnt doubt it. I'll wait for the eventual DVD to waste my time on it.

I'm getting tired of all these films with "creepy" kids in it. But the rest of the trailer make it look pretty sweet. From what I've heard it's a rather forgettable film but I'll probably see it in theatres myself to juge.
I liked the Tooth Fairy title better.

I'm really looking forward to this film. The previews look good, plus the film stars Emma Caufield from Buffy! Anya has always been one of my favorites on "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"!

I heard that the first TEN minutes of the movie will be playing online at Yahoo Movies. I think it premieres at sunset tomorrow (Wednesday Jan 15th).

Yes, it's just another crappy teen re-hash horror flick. Jump scenes are created not from a creepy atmosphere but from sudden sounds on the soundtrack and quick edits. :sleepy:

Nothing all that great in the first ten minutes but it still looks mildly interesting.

The first ten minutes was a nice teaser. Nothing out of the ordinary, but it looks entertaining. I'll see it.

I just saw a preview of this last night. Nofxafi had it right when he said not amazing but didn't suck ass. I'm not going to provide plot details or spoilers because I hate it when people do that (I had to sit through the movie so you should too!), but here are some of my impressions of the movie. There is little CGI in this film (at least not noticeable or obvious), and there was a pretty good mix of humor and suspense. On the other hand, some of the
dialouge seemed looped (the lips didn't match the words), and some of the scenes seemed to end abruptly. The film is only like 75 minutes or so leading me to believe that it was cut substantially to achieve a PG-13 rating, so all you gorehounds are going to be disappointed but I'm sure no one was really expecting much in that department anyway. A director's cut DVD might be interesting to see if it were ever to be released. If you're interested in seeing this movie, I would advise you to see it at a second run theater or wait for the DVD. Not a bad film, but not worth $8.
On an interesting side note, the theater was handing out bags of Darkness Falls stuff which included a 27" by 40" poster, a long sleeved t-shirt, stickers, hats, and glow sticks. So I can't really complain at all since I saw the movie for free and got all the other stuff for free too (I love movie posters, even if they're from movies I don't like).

I've been looking forward to this movie for over a year, so I'm definitely seeing it.
It has been hacked up though. An interview with Emma Caufield in the lastest Fango mentions a lot of reshoots and edits when they decided to change the tone of the film to get a PG-13 rating.
She also talks about the Tooth Fairy figure from the Movie Maniacs set being a collectable, as the Tooth Fairy in the film now looks nothing like the figure.
