According to Fangoria:

The tastemakers at Troma are, um, deep into production on their latest opus, the anthology feature TALES FROM THE CRAPPER. The movie features Lloyd Kaufman as the Crap Keeper in segments he is directing, in which he introduces a pair of terror tales directed by David Paiko and Brian Spitz, both written by Mark Adams. One is about a killer mantis from outer space, the other involves stripper vampires; the cast includes Julie Strain and her husband, comics creator Kevin Eastman, Arban Ornelas, Debbie Rochon and Isabelle Stephen.

Sounds good to me. Right...?

I'll bet like most Troma flicks, it'll be tasteless, crude, over-the-top and hilarious. I hope it gets the 2-disc treatment that Terror Firmer received.

I will watch anything with Julie Strain ;)

I gave up on Troma two years ago. Their flicks just don't do anything for me anymore.

That's not a bad idea, I do most of my best thinking on the toilet.

Among the very worst titles every conceived.

Troma used to be so good at being so bad, but now they are just crap... no pun intended.

Agreed. It's funny, people regard THE TOXIC AVENGER and TERROR FIRMER as equally great (and sometimes even the latter as better), but I don't get it. I loved the hell out of TA, used to watch it at least once a month with some friends. But TF was just...gross and annoying. First movie I've returned the same day I bought it. I literally got home, watched it, and took it back.

Ahhh, good old Troma. I miss the old days in the late 80's, watching a Troma flick on cable at night (usually on USA).

I agree, most of their new stuff isn't as good as the older stuff...maybe I'm just getting old.

just tried to sit through the first segment of tales from the crapper and couldn't make it. julie strain is hot but the whole thing is terrible. not good terrible either. bad terrible.

the dvd has a cool cover though. i have no stomach for this type of lame shot on digicam trash.

i suppose the second segment could have been better but i couldn't make it that far.

Yeah it was pretty hard to watch. They had a pretty good concept of "bonervision" that's kind of funny. I'll probably go back and watch the second story later.

Tales From The Crapper was allright, good for a laugh, but nothing great. I got a screener copy of it about a year ago.

You have to take in account all the technical problems Troma faced with making this movie, such as; the short's directors bringing Lloyd back shitty material, people quitting, money issues, everything that possible could go wrong with production DID go wrong on this movie, and Lloyd and his editors did the best the could with the footage left to try and make a decent movie.

I was looking forward to this one, sounds like it's not too good.
I will pick it up anyways because I am such a Troma whore.
Is there just two stories or is there more?

Yeah this movie had alot of problems, unfortunately most of it shows. But don't get me wrong, I didn't throw it out the window. It was semi-entertaining. That Kevin Eastman guy is a worse actor than a porno star. There is a featurette that explains how the movie finally came to fruition, and I'm kind of interested in that. The movie looks so cheap though, I thought the beginning was just another one of those Kaufman intros, but it was the movie. There are 2 stories, the second one has Ron Jeremy I think. :)

Censorship sucks! I guess some disgruntled renter complained about the cover of Tales.(If anything the movie is offensive because it is so terrible!)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Ocotber 2004, Team Troma learned of some disturbing news about censorship within a major video chain...

Hello,

My name is Charles. I've always been a true supporter of Troma, and I must say that I hope this e-mail would reach Mr. Lloyd Kaufman, as he would probably not be that happy of a camper with it.

Anyway...I got a bit of news that seems really interesting, and I am not sure if anyone at the Troma Team knows it (yet).

I use to work at a Hollywood Video store that was about 20 minutes from my house. Good people, good staff, and a great job for a college student such as myself: Easy money, free rentals, and to be honest, not that hard of a gig. Well, things went astray, the 20 minutes got annoying, and I sold out, and decided to apply at the local Blockbuster (a franchised Blockbuster, not one of the corporate run shindigs). I got hired, and I am happily working much closer to home (2 minutes) and making more money.

Before I quit Hollywood, I noticed on our pre-order sheets that they would be getting TALES FROM THE CRAPPER in. I was excited, I couldn't wait. But things changed, and Block did not get it. On Tuesday, October 5th, 2004, I went to the Hollywood I use to work at after my classes were over to pick it up. I noticed that (at least to my knowledge) a R-rated edition was not made for this specific round of Tromatic flick. I popped it in my X-Box, sat back, and enjoyed the movie; Not as good as CITIZEN TOXIE, but on the same level as TERROR FIRMER in my eyes. Anyway, I took it back Wednesday, October 6th, and my old manager was working.

I started talking to him, and he told me that...

ALL COPIES FROM ALL HOLLYWOOD VIDEO STORES OF TALES FROM THE CRAPPER MUST BE SENT BACK TO CORPORATE!!!

Apparently, some customer complained about the cover, more specifically the description of the flick on the back.

To me, this is just another shot by mainstream media to attack the true independents. Other films with just as much nudity, violence, and profanities can sit idly on those shelves and no one will complain, but when a Troma feature, a true independent film is released, it gets
pulled.

I was shocked and appalled, and I know that the Troma Team should know.

If whoever reads this, Lloyd Kaufman, or anyone else have any questions, feel free to contact me.

Thank you,
Charles Z

I liked Tales from the Crapper, but I think its one those movies where you have to be a huge fan of B-movies, Troma movies, or really 'bad' movies to like it. If you don't fit in one of the categories, I'd say stay away from it.
