Just letting you guys know that I've recently compiled an upcoming releases list and it's now available for all to see. Head on over to Mondo Digital ( http://www.mondo-digital.com ) and check the Upcoming Releases sections. I have tons of titles and dates you won't see listed anywhere else.

Curse of the Queerwolf is hilarious! I remember picking it up in the bargain bin about 6 or 7 years ago at Suncoast of all places, I wasn't let down!

I met Mark Pirro, the director of Curse Of The Queerwolf, A Polish Vampire In Burbank, and Deathrow Gameshow, to name a few, cool guy.

These are all great films and I can't wait to get my hands on these. Deathrow Gameshow was announced for a DVD release ages ago, but haven't heard anything since.

CURSE OF THE QUEERWOLF and A POLISH VAMPIRE IN BURBANK are Super8 comedies by a fellow named Mark Pirro. Both were pretty rare finds on video, especially as PC-ness swelled at the end of the 90’s – most stores did whatever they could to get the films off their shelves. Their DVD debut is most welcome, though I’m beginning to suspect they’ve been delayed. We’re already halfway through January and there’s been no official street date set? I’ll be surprised if they indeed pop up.

After these two Pirro made the leap to 35mm to helm the hilarious DEATHROW GAMESHOW. I first caught DG on cable when I was in middle school, and it has stuck with me ever since. Of course, any movie where a gasoline-totin’ old grannie is made to jump through fire-hoops is a-ok in my book. And that doesn’t even begin to describe the “Dance of the Seven Boners.” I too seem to recall someone mentioning a DVD of this a while back – was it Anchor Bay?

After DG, Mark didn’t like the deal that was handed to him (which I think was a directing gig on MY MOM’S A WEREWOLF) and returned to Super8 to shoot NUDIST COLONY OF THE DEAD. A musical. I haven’t seen it, but I’m dyin’ to.

Not sure what he did after that, but I don’t really recall his name coming up related to any genre projects. I’d like to think he’s still out there toiling away on Super8 epics on the weekends, but I somehow doubt it. Maybe there’s an interview or commentary on the DVDs?

NEKROMANTIK 2 is pretty much finished, I can’t see it getting delayed. I also announced a few other Barrel titles on the list (the Jim Sikora flicks) and should have another soon. They have an update for their site all ready to go, but they’re waiting for one deal to finally get signed before they post it.

As far as the DVD list goes, I’m gonna turn in an update every other week. But you guys should all keep checkin’ Mondo Digital anyway, because Nathaniel’s reviews rock. (And because I occasionally review stuff too. We should have a Top Ten list up soon.)

Nudist Colony Of The Dead is a riot, a must-see.

Deathrow Gameshow was announced ages ago by Rhino but has never been released. I'd love to replace my Media Home VHS, which has seen it's better days.

For more information on Mark and what he is up to, check out his Pirromount Pictures website:

Not sure if anyone still cares, but for almost a year now I've been maintaining the Upcoming Releases list over at my blog; I think it's the best of its type. I keep it constantly updated and there's some stuff there you won't find anywhere else.

Here's a direct link, or you can click the link in my signature to be taken to the main page:

Wow! Thanks for keeping up a great list! I wasn't around here in 2003 so I had no idea about your original site.

So, a new edition of TESIS in February. Wonder what's on it and if it's worth the upgrade. And THE NESTING from Blue Underground in May! Score! Last I read on the Code Red thread was that the owner wasn't interested in selling the rights. Can't wait for that one!

With the bankrupcy of BARELL (the best there was for me), their "future" release of ANGST is sadly missed. What a masterpiece.

The upcoming THESIS (TESIS) disc supposedly has a new anamorphic transfer, a making of featurette, deleted scenes and "more."

As for Barrel, they didn't exactly go bankrupt, but distribution hassles and declining sales led them to close shop. As far as I know, ANGST was actually finished (they sent me some screenshots of their new hi-def transfer and it was gorgeous), so it's a shame it never made it out the door. Ditto with DER TODESKING -- doubly so, since I skipped picking up the import waiting for their release!

Very nice list, Bruce. I've linked to it on our Twitter account (@horrordigital (http://twitter.com/horrordigital)) and have bookmarked it for myself. Always nice to have something like this updated by someone who knows more than just the new crap that hits Wal-Mart every week. Thanks for sharing it.

I see Grotesque from Media Blasters on that list for November but can't find it for sale anywhere.

Thanks for the plug, Rhett!

The Media Blasters schedule has been a bit wonky since they signed their new distribution deal -- hopefully things will get back to normal soon. I don't believe GROTESQUE actually made it to streets yet; I would imagine they'd need to resolicit it through their new host first. I've moved it to the Undated section in today's update.

(I also posted a new Name that Movie Challenge on the main page!)
