Hey guys,
I was wondering do you people like Troma flicks or do you hate them. I personlly can't stand troma I couldent even sit through toxic avenger. Im wondering are there any Troma films that dont feel like a troma film that I might enjoy?

i also hate Troma. i feel The Toxic Avenger part 1 is the only good film they have put out (i am not counting Bloodsucking Freaks, Stendhal Syndrome or Fanatic or any others they didnt MAKE)

i acutally still had a little hope for them but after the totally disappointing Terror Firmer, i gave up all hope.

I'm in the middle. I love some of their flicks, but the majority are crap. Toxic Avenger & Class of Nuke 'EM High are classic cheese. Terror Firmer's sledgehammer approach got on my nerves, but that's Troma for you.:D I still wouldn't mind checking out Citizen Toxie. Kaufman can be an annoying prick on those DVD intros. I was won over by his book, "All I Need To Know About Filmmaking I Learnrd From The Toxic Avenger." Great read!

Check out Mother's Day & Combat Shock. Troma didn't make 'em, but they had the good sense to distribute 'em.

hate em

I love Redneck Zombies but of course, they had nothing to do with the making of it.

Anyone pick up Troma's release of "New Gladiators" by Fulci? Crap print and ful screen (has roma ever released a film in widscreen?). Even the commentary was boring as hell, I just hate when Troma releases such crappy transfers yet takes the time to film a half-ass intro by Lloyd. Utter crap...

Also, trying buying movies of thier site - I promise you that they will fuck-up your order someway. Ask anyone who's bought from them.

"I love Redneck Zombies but of course, they had nothing to do with the making of it." OOOOOOOh yes they did. It was a collabaration between troma and full moon. Not all troma sucks e.g. War, Toxie, Nuke em' high and Fortress of America spring to mind.

I agree with most of the folks, I have some of their films, but basically I don't like them. There dvds are also always on the crap side, which is no way to win me as a loyal customer. :fuck:

I liked Toxic 1 and Redneck Zombies but my favorite is Tromeo and Juliet.

I usually don't enjoy their movies (hated Terror Firmer) but I'm still compelled to rent them once in a blue moon. I guess I keep hoping that they're going to be good, but I'm usually greatly dissapointed.

Lloyd is an ass. :fuck:

i have a love/hate relationship with Troma. Some of their movies i love so much...so i rent other ones and end up having a friend rip the spoon out of my hand so i can't dig out my eyeballs. and with that said, i can't wait to see Citizen Toxie.

I love Troma,I remember they used to play a ton of troma movies on USA up all night when I was younger.Been a fan ever since.I never had any problems ordering from them online as stated above.I also got the citizen toxie screener and I thought it was a good movie, typical troma though, so if you dont like them, you probably wont like the movie.About a third of my dvd collection is Troma releases.I really liked terror firmer,it was way better than I thought it was going to be.So put me down as loving troma.

I can't say that I like a single film they've ever put out. But I love Troma dearly for having the balls to keep making the kind of films they do and love doing it.

I agree with Relditty on this one. I liked both of those films for their cheese quotient alone. I haven't seen any other Troma flicks, but nor do I want to.

I like the films they, themselves make, and not the the ones they merely distribute. I think their films are a blast. Fun drinking movies. Entertaining as hell in that context. I like Toxie Avenger, Class of Nukem High, Surf Nazis (Though I don't think they made this one), Troma's War, Tromeo and Juliet and Terror Firmer.

Their discs suck too, the extras beyond the commentaries are downright awful!

Now I will give some credit for Troma Dance, that seems to be an event worth hailing...I still haven't watched the disc or been to the event, but Troma still chaps my ass.

I love 'em! Even if some (most, really) of their stuff sucks balls, you still have to respect their independence.

Can't say I've ever really enjoyed a Troma-made film. Have liked *some* of the flicks they've distributed.

Watched the most god-awful movie last night: Charles Debus' Drive In ... and the most excruciating thing was the endless shots of Troma flicks on the drive in screen(s)!!

With Troma you know what you are getting and if you dig it, you dig it. I just got Buttcrack which was just okay when I was watching it but a day later I thought "Churn the milk to make the butter" and almost wrecked I started laughing so hard.
Now, Seduction Cinema is going to be the new Troma. Rock N Roll Frankenstein was inspirational. If only their pseudo-porn didn't have so many women that look like they are smuggling soccer balls.
And dispite the porn talk I will not use the dancing bannana thingy.

I think if Troma itself would release there movies with features and tell what the hell formats its on dvd then I might buy there line of product at some hope.

I for example almost today purchsed "Mother's Day" for $14.99 but readiing the details on the back it was missing for screen format it's in and what sound it will be played back,, for example if there dvd by Troma played in 16:9 format and Dolby Digital 2.0 or 5.1 etc.
That is one of the main reasons why I did not get it,,, other then that I got allot of good feedback on that movie on here,, but simple things like that as I posted abouve are things why I would not buy Troma (its all about market baby!!, U want my money tell me the info of the item your selling ;) ).
But then again as you all mention,,, Troma movies are just a box of cracker jacks,,,, you never know what your prize will be inside :D !!

I'm pretty on the line with Troma. Some of their stuff I love (Tromeo & Juliet, Terror Firmer) and some is just plain crap. I'll usually watch the more "mainstream" Troma flicks, since those seem to get the most love from fans and in production.

I'm with KillerCannabis. I like a lot of thier movies and hate a lot. I mostly only like the mainstream movies though like Toxic, Terror Firmer, Redneck Zombies, etc.
