:fire: :fire:

01-23-2003, 12:39 AM
Lame. I hate it.

I'll still get it. I hope the transfer's good.

01-23-2003, 01:18 AM
Wow, haven't even seen it and can safely say that is one of the (if not the) WORST cover(s) i've ever seen.

01-23-2003, 03:32 AM
bah, i learned my lesson, i didnt expect the cover to be awesome

01-23-2003, 03:36 AM
The cover sucks, but be happy for a region 1 dvd!!

01-23-2003, 03:44 AM

Atrocious... Studios need to get rid of that Photoshop shit and go back to putting ART back into Promotional ARTwork!

Damn right.:glasses: Im gonna just stick to the tartan release of the film.

Yeah, I'm happy with my "Tartan" region 1 boot. The new release would really have to be great in extras and transfer to get me to pull the trigger.

Damn, they put zero effort into that turd. How could they not use the Sadako cover??? :fire:

01-25-2003, 12:08 AM
I am glad they did not use Sadako becasue it ruins the ending of the film. And if you want you can change the cover. Or you can print your own cover. But I like it.

01-25-2003, 12:14 AM
I agree, I'm glad they didn't use the Sadako cover, it ruined what sadako looked like for me.

01-25-2003, 04:32 AM
What's more important? The freaking cover or the movie???? Who gives a shit about the cover??? Give me a break!

Any time some graphic nonsense is posted - people bitch about Photoshop. The likelihood this was done in Photoshop is minimal. What evidence is there that this was done in Photoshop?

Apart from that - what I think is a shame is that it tooka remake to get this movie an R1 release. The core audience for such films has probably already gotten it elsewhere by now. The mainstream audience this one is aimed at are just going to complain about the lack of an english soundtrack.....

Would you prefer I said Paint Shop Pro? Better yet, how about MS Paint?

01-25-2003, 06:58 PM
I really don't mind either way - if accuracy was not your goal, then you could say bananas.

That is indeed, as us Australians might say, one shithouse DVD cover. Ugly and patronising!

I much prefer mcchrist's artwork!!

Well, most everything is done in Photoshop anymore. I, for one, can't figure the shit out, so it's a good thing I ganked it off of Kazaa instead of paying for it. But anyway...

I fucking hate most contemporary movie art. Look at something like the painted posters for the first Nightmare on Elm Street movies. Those are gorgeous; I'd love to get some prints of those. Now compare those to the lame-ass shit they came up with for the individual NOES DVD releases. Thankfully the box set has the original art on the cases.

I'll probably just take the disc out and put it in my R0 case for Ring. I hate this cover. Hopefully they post some custom version on dvdcoverart.com since that site has some kick ass scans.

Well personally I thought that this cover will keep it more mysterious as opposed to the tartan DVD cover. That cover and the menu reveals Sadako!

Too bad I remember they had some cool promotional art when the movie was being screened where I live. I wonder why they chose that piece. Good thing the movie makes up for that.
