Whats you favorite tagline. I know there are tons of classics I missed but these are some of the one that stood out in my mind. My vote if for Texas Chainsaw Masscare.

I like when you hear him talk to himself and say things to make what he does to others, the right thing to do. And when he speaks out loud to his mannequins in his room it only helps confirm that what he is doing is only in the best of intentions for himself.

My favorite is the one for The Mutilator, something like: "By Knife, By Pick, By Axe, Bye Bye"

I voted for TCM.

I also like Blood Beach:
"Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water - you can't get to it."

"Who Will Survive....And What Will Be Left Of Them?"

That definitely set the grim tone for the movie... That gets my vote.

TCM for me too. I love the trailers for it. Still sends a chill down my spine.

My vote goes to 'Maniac'.

Honorable mention: 'Monster A Go-Go' : "The picture that comes complete with a 10 foot tall monster to give you the wim-wams!"

Sweet poll moog!

I'll go with MANIAC as well. That tagline juxtaposed with the freaky artwork is actually chilling!

Army of Darkness.

Maybe it's my mood right now, but that tagline cracks me up. Maybe if the cover art was with the taglines, my favorite would be swayed.

Dawn Of The Dead, maybe that's just because I'm wearing a Dawn Of The Dead t-shirt today.

Very hard choice between Dawn of the Dead and Army of Darkness. Both great lines, and 2 of my favorite films!

Ah, The Mutilator!
When will we see a decent R1 DVD release?

mcchrist

Not really, but some elements were stolen from it IMO. Its a typical video shelf 80's slasher with teenies getting dispatched in various ways.

I forgot about the classic tagline from THE MUTILATOR!!

The song in Mutilator was even better than the tagline:D

Here I voted for Dawn of the Dead because its hard to choose my favorite.

Thinking back to when I was a kid in the seventies, the tag line was the scariest part of the move a lot of times.

I remember for It's Alive something like:

The Davis family isn't sending out death notices, because It's Alive.

And then the Sentinal:

There's always been a guardian to the gates of Hell.

One time my brother and one of our friends came running up out of the basesment. One of them said that line and they scared themselves silly.

Then there would be radio commercials for Last House on the Left and the Hills Have Eyes that were pretty scary even though I don't remember specifically what their tag lines were. Hell, the Hills Have Eyes was a scary title all by its self.

Speaking of songs, the Halloween III jingle was pretty good.

Yea I remember hearing those cool radio ads for movies like Last House on the Left, Jaws etc. The trailers on tv with that voice saying the taglines was scary as hell too especially when me and my brother and sister would stay up late. Whenever we would see the trailer for Ruby we woul;d go apeshit:lol: Ok we were kinda nerdy I guess:nervous:

Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas. (Army of Darkness)

Hell fucking yeah that gets my vote.

Dawn of the Dead. Thats one of the coolest taglines I've ever read for a movie. It sounds so apocalyptic.

I love the tagline for Carrie, my all-time fave movie:

"If you have a taste for terror, take Carrie to the prom!"

My other faves are:

"The good news is your date is here. The bad news is he's dead." -Night of the Creeps

"We are going to eat you!" - Zombie

"It's only a movie... only a movie... ONLY A MOVIE" - Last House on the Left
