Request for "Coffin Joe Trilogy" review

Has anyone here seen any of the coffin joe movies, and if you have could you post a review? Thanks.

Bump.

I wanna see these movies too, but wanted some opinions first.

I'm looking for the brazilian 6 movie set. I haven't seen any of these in many many years.

Andrew 06-06-2003 06:40 PM

I'd get the 6 disc set but none of the extras are subtitled. I know Spanish pretty well but it'd be quite a bitch.

mcchrist 06-06-2003 08:30 PM

Movies like this, extras don't really concern me that much. I just want a good picture with good sound and I'll be happy.

Andrew 06-07-2003 07:19 AM

Oh. I thought the only advantage that the 6-disc set had was extras. Are the transfers that much better too?

mcchrist 06-07-2003 07:55 AM

nah, you just get more movies (six movies total), that's all :)

Andrew 06-07-2003 08:03 AM

I see.

Wow, no reviews for this one yet? I'm probably picking up the trilogy from this guy for $30, if he gets back to me. I've only seen At Midnight I'll Take Your Soul, but I really enjoyed it. It was actually quite mean-spirited, especially given it's age. That's not why I liked it, I'm just saying. I'm not gonna try and review it myself because I just can't seem to get a good handle on reviewing. Either my reviews are way too detailed, or they are short and disjointed so I'll skip even trying. There is a pretty good review of the trilogy on "you know where.net" that got me interested in it if that helps anyone.

I copied the FORMAT (section headings) from the HorrorDVD site reviews. If you do that, you can "control" your urges to get disjointed.

I love detailed reviews! I just did Zombie which had a tiny bit of detail, but go look for the first posts in this forum where I did Phenomena. That was long on analysis.

Writing something like Phenomena is a fun exercise. I would watch the film, and then run right upstairs and quickly type my thoughts (did the same with Zombie) - so everything is fresh in my mind.

Reviews are not being rated par se. Don't be afraid to do what suits you. The point is others might benefit from your words!

Next week I'll be finished watching my 6 DVD set, then I'll write some sort of review on the six films (as opposed to only 3 in the coffin boxset).

PS- Can I get that screamy bopper tag off from beneath my ID. I'm 28 for christ sake.

Since these are Brazillian movies wouldn't the extras be in Portuguese? :)

x666x -The screamy Bopper tag comes off once you make 50 posts. After that, you become different things till 500. That's where you can make your own tag. I made "rat-bastard child" ;)

Ok,some of you have seen them,if you dont want to review them can you at least tell us if they are worth dropping the 50 bucks to pick up the set? I would buy them outright but I could think of a few other titles I want for 50 bucks....So,are they worth owning or no?
