Synopsis: Seeking respite from the bustle of London life, writer Roderick Fitzgerald (Ray Milland) and his sister Pamela (Ruth Hussey) move into a neglected clifftop mansion and set about making it their home. However, it isnít long before an unnerving presence makes itself felt: an eerie chill lingers in the rooms and distant wailing is heard at night. Despite Roderickís cynicism, it becomes increasingly clear that the house is haunted - but why in such a snug haven would the dead trouble the living?

You had me excited until I got to the UK only part.

This would be a perfect film for Criterion to acquire.

I've been waiting for a studio release of this film for more years than I can remember! Counting down the days already.

Perhaps Outward Bound and The Monster and the Girl might also appear within my lifetime...

I'm sorry to say I only caught up to this one a couple of years ago.Saw it in the theater though in a great 35mm print.A fine movie, happy that it's finally hitting disc though a domestic release would be very welcome.

I didn't even realize this was coming out. Amazon.uk says Sept 17th though.

Actually, rumors abound that Criterion are indeed working on it.

Have they changed the release date? Amazon sent me a message indicating the new arrival date for my The Uninvited DVD is Nov 7 - Nov 12, and they state that the release date of the supplier was changed.

Anyone pick this up yet? I've read mixed reviews on the transfer.
