BLU: Universal Classic Monsters - The Essential Collection 10/2/12
Retail is $159.98 and includes
Dracula Dracula - Spanish Frankenstein The Mummy The Invisible Man Bride of Frankenstein The Wolf Man Phantom of the Opera (1943) Creature From the Black Lagoon (2D & 3D) Details at Classic Flix http://www.classicflix.com/universal...c9c68629483cad |
I'll wait for the inevitable individual releases. Not a fan of The Mummy or The Invisible Man. Here's to hoping that the Creature in 3D is not anaglyph 3D, and takes full advantage of 3D HDTVs.

Thats way to expensive
|
I really want this but $160? That seems way overpriced for 8-9 discs. Especially when i've got the 23 disc bond set coming in sept for only $25 more...
|
$160 is the SRP. When it hits shelves, I'm sure most retailers will have it for much cheaper. If I had to guess, probably $100 - $120.
This is the type of thing that seems ripe for Lightning Deals and what-not, so if you wait for it to go on sale, it'll probably be even cheaper than that. |
Cover art...

They can charge me whatever the hell they want to. Just tell me who to give the money to.
|
I haven't watched my old legacy collections enough to justify an upgrade.
|
will be hard to resist at 99 bucks
|
I kind of wish these were individual releases, but fuck it. This is a must.
Artwork is kind of mediocre....shame as I really loved the 75th Anniversary cases. |
Found this pic on the digital bits:
http://www.horror-movies.ca/wp-conte...rs-Blu-ray.jpg Looks like its gonna be another "book" style release. Fine by me, I like them quite a bit. I know a few people hate them with a passion, though. Kind of looks like the wave of the future. |
I don't like book-packaging, only because I'm worried it will scratch the discs. Yes, I know that blu-rays are "scratch resistant", but that doesn't mean they can't be scratched.
Won't keep me from buying it, though. |
