Any word on Boogens blu-ray yet??

I think August 7th.. can't wait for reviews on the picture quality...

looking forward to this one. Long time coming.

This is gonna sound paranoid but Olive has been dropping titles from their release schedule for no apparent reason. Maybe they've done research and determined that the dropped titles would not sell. Not saying that BOOGENS is on the chopping block, just hoping Olive doesn't change their mind.

It's still up for pre-order on Amazon so I see no need to be paranoid about it just yet.

Oh, good - thanks for the heads up. If it's up on Amazon then it's officially coming out.

rxfiend 07-09-2012 04:10 PM

Not necessarily. There have been other titles up for preorder before then get cancelled.

Steel76 07-09-2012 04:52 PM

The reason why they dropped a couple of titles on the list was because they couldn´t find any usable material good enough for a release. Maybe they will revisit those when and if they stumble on the original negatives or some 35mm reels in good shape.

"Boogens" is still a go since it already have been mastered in high def. :)

zbinks 07-09-2012 11:04 PM

The titles that they had dropped hadn't even made it to Amazon.com for preorder yet, if I recall correctly.

remember when " it came from hollywood" 1982 was gonna be on paramount dvd in like2000, they even had the cover art for it. and it got dropped for good... so mad about that..

yeah no screen caps. I usually go by dvd talk's reviews. when they have them. they ar e pretty much on the money for me.. Blu ray.com is a tad too harsh... If dvd talk's picture rating is at least a 4 stars out of 5. then its gonna be ok... if its 3 or less. no good..

actually reading the review is making me dizzy! all this reviewer did was like get the imdb credit for EVERYONE involved in the film, while trying to make himself sound like he is Mr know-it-all and a review that could have been told in 4 paragraphs is now told in 8 mamoth paragraphs filled with worthless credit of the cast and crew!

Did the guy liked the film in the end? I dont know!

ronnie21 07-21-2012 02:57 AM

yeah, really. wait for blu ray .com or dvd talk's reviews. those will be the ultimate test.. at least with blu ray.com even if the review isn't great. they will give us at least 20 screenshots...so we can judge ourselves.. but iam mad. no trailer or t.v. spot...
