Child's Play sequels on Blu-ray soon?!

I wanted the first 2 to get Scream Factory treatment while the remaining 2 to get released by Universal. Either way, this is big news! Let's hope Universal will give the first 2 Special Edition treatment.

well i remember bride of chucky was on universal list to be coming out on blu but never did in 2012

Seed is out in Canada and some Northern States (Meijers near me in MI has a couple copies) from Alliance, but it's the theater cut and no extras. I really just want Bride and maybe Seed unrated, dvd is fine for the rest of them as they aren't favorites. Bride is just comedic gold!

i'm the opposite. i'd love blu rays of 2 and 3, but have no interest in owning bride or seed in any form. for my money, Seed and Bride are to the Child's Play series what AVP and AVP: Requiem are to the Alien or Predator series.

I don't think that is any real indication they are coming. That just means that Universal wouldn't sell them the rights because they are contemplating doing them.

I wouldn't get my hopes up, at least not until closer to October.

Parts 2 +3 will be released as Blu Ray steelbooks without any extras in Germany/Austria on the 29th of March.

Yeah, Alliance pretty much sucks that way. The Black Christmas remake Blu-ray they released is also the theater cut, which is a good 2+ minutes shorter than the US Unrated DVD.

hated those sequels,, now bring on and remaster the psycho sequels. II AND III. now that would be alot better...

Curse of Chucky is slated for Fall 2013 so they'll probably release more then too. Supposedly the sequel continues after Part 3 as if Bride/Seed never happened so I wonder if they'll bother with those. Somehow I doubt the executive in charge will know/care either way so it's a coin flip if we get Bride/Seed or not.

I would get all the sequels on blu except for Seed. Never cared for that one at all. Recently broke down and bought part 3...it's average at best. Bride of Chucky was a breath of fresh air to the series.

I'd be happy with a blu box-set if they put a decent amount of effort into it. It'd be the easiest way for them to sell all the sequels as well. Hopefully the new movie with prompt them to release this.

The 1080i Black X-mas CAN release was from TVA films, not alliance. But yeah, alliance has buggered quite a few potentially good releases. Every now and then they do outdo the US though... Evil Dead 2 comes to mind!

Is alliance still around or should I say in business?
