Where the FUCK is Orphan?!

Ash28M 07-27-2013 06:17 AM

Drag Me to Hell
The Collector

Egg_Shen 07-27-2013 06:46 AM

I would have actually picked a few that didn't make the cut. Not that they're too great either. That said, Drag Me to Hell and Jennifer's Body were good.

Katatonia 07-27-2013 07:09 AM

Dead Snow
Drag Me to Hell
My Bloody Valentine

Vance Vandy 07-27-2013 07:42 AM

In order of preference:

The Collector
The Human Centipede (First Sequence)

No doubt.
It's kind of funny because everybody signed up with IMDb can or could change their genre tags accordingly, but apparently nobody cared enough to add "horror" to Orphan or The Skeleton Key.

Drag Me To Hell
Dead Snow

imdb is NOT god nor all knowing. The fact that Orphan, one of the best horror films of the 00s is not in this poll is a travesty.

Drag Me to Hell
Saw VI (the best sequel aside from III)
House of the Devil
Sorority Row

[REC] 2
Human Centipede
Drag Me To Hell
My Bloody Valentine

Saw VI (love the sequels from 4-6, such a funnily contrived chronology)
Drag Me to Hell (sure missed Raimi all those years)
My Bloody Valentine (solid remake, Atkins, got the underground atmosphere right)
The Collector (underrated flick)
Jennifer's Body (nice satire but still dark, was a pleasant surprise at the time)

The only movie in that list I was even mildly interested in - Jennifer's Body - I've never seen. Also missed Splice and I refuse to see Antichrist (and Melancholia).

The rest of this list is a good example of how polished horror has become. Contradicting the collective subject matter of the films greatly. And the character writing. And the dialogue. And the acting. And...

I'm curious, why? I haven't seen Melancholia, but I found Antichrist to be an incredibly rich film, with a lot of room for interpretation and analysis.
