Silent Night Bloody Night - The Homecoming

Randomly came across this on IMDB. The timelines seem messed up though, no? Well, whatever - maybe IMDB is wrong.

The abandoned home of Wilfred Butler, a wealthy but troubled man who committed suicide in 1987, has been willed to his grandson, Jeffrey. The house has sat in disarray since Wilfred's death, standing in the way of developers who want to turn the property into residential homes. Just before Christmas 2012, many years after Wilfred's death, Jeffrey and his lawyer appear in town to negotiate the sale of the property. But an Axe wielding maniac has set up residence in the house, and he doesn't take kindly to strangers.

A UK remake? :eek2: The trailer looks pretty cheap...

Mutilated Prey 10-01-2013 05:05 AM

Well that's what I was trying to figure out - is it a remake or a sequel of sorts? I guess remake makes more sense. The fact that it's British slightly scares me, but I didn't think it looked all that bad. I'd at least give it a Netflix.

The description of the film sounds basically like a modern-day remake of the original.

I'd probably rent it just to check it out and see, but I wasn't too impressed based on the trailer.

I'm pretty sure Katatonia has the lube ready and this crap on pre-order.

"This description look's kind of interesting to say the least.

I'll probably put this on pre-order when it becomes available."

Nope... rental only! :freak:

Rented this on iTunes a while back, it's awful, very cheap and it's supposed to be a sequel.

The whole thing just reeks of "Why??"

Why a remake/sequel (whatever it is) 40 years later and why from the British?

The negative comments here made me cancel my pre-order. On a related note, I recently watched Code Red's release of the original, and it's the most I've ever enjoyed the movie. Any first time viewers should pass all the unwatchable, muffled sounding bootlegs by and go straight to this - it's actually a nice, little spooky film.
