Whoa. That was one bizarre mind-fuck of a movie, and I loved every second of it. I was riveted to the screen. It's a subject we've seen before, the weird loner high school girl with major teen angst, but Pauline is not the quiet shy type usually depicted in these movies. She's not afraid to talk to people or tell her true feelings, she's just really really weird about it. And in the end, we find out that

it's not a misunderstood girl finally pushed to the breaking point, she's just completely batshit insane. Sure, her mom is a bit bonkers too, but not too different from most moms. Pauline is just completely messed up far beyond the range of a dysfunctional family |
