...anyone know if DVD or lasers are/will be available anytime soon.
Rabid Dogs (Bava. I've heard there is a region O rumored, but not sure) The Baby of Macon (Greenaway. Banned mostly everywhere) Death Weekend (Canadian from the '70's compared to Last House on the left...) Any info appreciated! |

Bava's Rabid Dogs was available quite some time ago. It's out of print now, but you may be able to find a copy on ebay for 30-40 bucks. That's close to what I paid for mine in the store, so it's not too much of a price hike. I haven't heard anything about the other two flicks that you mentioned.

Indie, DEATH WEEKEND is not on DVD or LD, MGM owns that title. I do have the uncut copy on VHS.

I've never seen The Baby of Macon but it was screened on Channel 4 in the UK as part of a Greenaway season about a year ago. I didn't know this film was banned in various countries but I know it raised controversy when it was released (but then that's Greenaway for you). Did the film receive a US release? In the UK it was an arthouse movie but I don't think it performed well at even this "limited" box office, unlike The Cook, The Thief...

Baby of Macon is Greenaway's best film in my humble opinion. A true masterpiece!
