LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT DVD

Does anyone know when this is coming out in the US or anywhere else on Region 1? What supplements will it have? Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, horrorboy101!

So far, there is no set date for the DVD. Hopes are not high for an uncut version or a SE. Here's an excerpt from Fangoria #200 (Craven-Cunningham interview):

FANG: "Will we ever see a completely uncut version of LAST HOUSE on DVD?"

Cunningham: "We've tried very hard to get the unedited film released, but the rights have been tangled up in the Orion Pictures bankruptcy. We'd be happy to see it come out again."

Craven: "I'm not against the idea. There is still a fair amount of material around; I have a lot of photographs that have never been released. But I don't think there's any chance of seeing a completely reconstituted version of the original cut. As I understand it, that stuff is gone forever-unless a print turns up in some projectionist's garage! It's a hard film, but it deserves to be preserved. It would be fun to do a commentary track for that!"

Haven't all of Orion's films been transfered over to MGM? If that is the case (which I am pretty sure of), you can bet that we will NEVER see a North American release of LHOTL as long as the cowardly Lion holds rights to it...

MGM currently holds the U.S. rights to Last House on the Left, and they are currently in the planning stages for a DVD release. It's been tentatively scheduled for a third-quarter (summer/early fall) release this year. It might be a reconstructed version, it might not be.

You know that the "cowardly lion" has released LHOTL to VHS, right?

Yes...I own it. I just can't see MGM releasing that version, or the uncut version of it, on DVD. I guess I am/was wrong.
