So: Just how many different version of Romero's DAWN OF THE DEAD do you own?

I love this film and after purchasing the new Ultimate Edition as well as getting the movie-only one last year, I find it hard to give away my 1997 Collector's Edition and the Theatrical Cut. The lasers I have (the Box set from Elite and Japan along with the movie-only from Elite) STAY - they're in for life.
How about you all?

I just have the one version, Ultimate Edition. I always borrowed a friends copy when ever I needed to watch it. Funny thing is....now he borrows mine all the time.

I only have the UE of Dawn. I used to have the anniversary one, but threw it on ebay as soon as AB decided to re-release. Got some great coin from it too.

I own the UE, as well as the AB Theatrical release. (As I couldn't hold out the couple of months before the UE was released).

I have the Canne's Cut, the 20th Anniversary, and the Ultimate ED. I was gonna get rid of the two previous releases but I just can't bring myself to it and probably never will. It's just one of those things.

I have the original Divimax edition of the Theatrical cut released last year and the UE. In the past, I have owned an old Republic VHS, the Theatrical cut widescreen VHS from AB, and the old Theatrical cut DVD.

One

The director's cut on LD. That one's a keeper, as it's signed by Tom Savini and Ken Foree.

I'll buy the Ultimate Edition DVD, when I can find it used. I bet I pick one up in the next two months. Still want the Elite box set LD, and possibly that Japanese one.

Used to have both of the old dvds, but those got ebayed years ago when the boxset was first announced.
Also couldn't resist the Divimax disc as it was cheap and shinny. I still have it just cuz the cover looks so cool with the gold logo. UE of course, and I still have the AB "Director's Cut" VHS with the second tape of trailers. Always got outbid on the Elite LD set, so I still don't have that although I may try again sometime.

I have the UE and the DC. The DC will always be in my possession because it's signed by Foree, Emge and Savini.

I never bought the newly released TC, but has anyone noticed two different covers? They're the same picture, but the spine on one is yellow and the other is shiny gold.

Yep, the first ones out were shinny gold, I'd guess this was a first run thing. Everything since has been the ugly yellow. Amazing how much better the gold looks.
Gold ones have started showing up at used stores around here, and one or 2 in Best Buy since the UE got released (they weren't there the week before it came out).
There's also a single disc, normal case version of Day of the Dead.
Is the 2-discer going out of print?
There's a couple 2 discers left at BB for $16.99, the single disc beside it is $14.99. Better get it quick if you've been waiting for whatever reason cuz it looks like it might be going away.

I have the Divimax Theatrical cut and the Ultimate Edition. Everybody get ready to buy it again when the Blu-Ray format becomes available. Anchor Bay has already said they will be releasing movies on Blu-Ray and I have no doubt that they will release a HD version of Dawn.

If you think that's a lot, you should see Michael E. Smith's collection (He's contributed stills of his items to the most recent Dawn & Day AB DVD's). The last time I spoke with him, he owned 110 different versions on VHS, LD, and DVD!
