The Devils on DVD

Just curious if anyone has heard anything regarding Ken Russell's The Devils coming out on DVD. This was discussed a while back - hoping that perhaps Criterion would consider having it as part of their collection.
Seriously wanting this to come out!!

I think Warner is supposed to release it sometime later this year to DVD.

There's also a similar recent thread about the import uncut DVD.

www.xploitedcinema.com has an "official" DVD-R of it with extras. I haven't picked it up myself yet (not enough cash) but I will eventually.

Update:

I've ordered this DVD-R online, and it just got in today. Gave it a watch... it appears that the most of the film is zoomed from 2.35:1 to a disappointing 1.85:1, which means we lose some material off to the sides. The image itself is washed out and slightly blurry, and it jumps a tiny bit every once in a while to remind you that you're watching an inferior version.

But the film is magnificent... haven't given the extras a look yet, but I highly recommend the disc (especially for those who haven't seen it) on the merits of the film by itself. It's essential viewing.

Indeed, it's brilliant... the only one of his films that I think approaches it (althought truthfully I've loved all of his films that I've seen) is GOTHIC.

I just finished watching the extras... some amusing anecdotes, Ken Russell and the cast and crew talk a bit, and some critics/fans give some insight into the film.

I first saw this film in a college political science class! (It was the end of the semester and the teacher picked it to watch for God knows why. We'd read Rousseau, who was French, but whatever). I love the final shots of the bodies on top of those wheel things--it looks like Brueghel's painting "The Triumph of Death," which was also used as the album cover for Black Sabbath's Greatest Hits. I hope Warners puts this one out, but I could definitely see it as a Criterion-type disc.

Anyone knows anything about a widescreen copy of GOTHIC? I cannot bring myself to by the Artisan piece of shit and having seen the film in cinemas and remembering the glorious visuals I must find a good copy of it!
