Plot:

An ancient pestilence called The Scourge has been set free in a small town after being entombed in a church's masonry for a century and a half. As bodies rapidly pile up, nothing stands between the spawning Scourge and the rest of the town except our young heroes Scott and Jessie who rediscover their love for each other in the process. I actually liked this one quite a bit, which was surprising as I thought it would be typical DTV dreck from Lionsgate. Decent acting, fast moving story, and good effects for a low budget film. I would definitely recommend that you at least rent this.

This has been sitting on my shelf for a while now, but I finally gave it a spin. I was kind of expecting the worst, but it actually wasn't too bad. It is well made and fairly interesting for the most part. I thought the finale was a little weak, as the showdown between our good guys and the creature was kind of mediocre.

It does run out of steam as it goes along, but compared to the SyFy Channel movie-of-the-week creature features we've become accustomed too, it actually wasn't terrible. I'd never watch it again, but I enjoyed it while it was on.
