Zombie High (1987) coming to DVD

From City Light Entertainment. No specs listed except for the street date: 06/23/09.

Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/Zombie-High-Ri...57743&sr=1-269

I'm expecting a very The Haunting In Connecticut-esque cover art with Virginia Madsen all over

Awesome! This is one of my guilty pleasure favorites.

I actually own two copies of the original VHS, one still brand new and one used.

City Lights Entertainment? Is this going to be a bootleg release?

I hope not. Couldn't find much company info online either

They are also releasing Never On Tuesday (1988) the same day, but I'll wait for reviews first.

I also have 2 vhs of this. nothing too spectacular but still awesome seeing Virginia Maedsen and Sherilyn Fenn in the same movie.

even the name "city lights entertainment" seems pretty cheap to me. although there was a company with the same name, I think, that put out the 1987 VHS "Epitaph" and the quality of that was pretty great, so who knows

Yeah, that's what I thought of when I heard the name associated with this release. They went out of business years ago, and never had anything to do with Zombie High. Who knows though...

The 1st VHS I had of Epitaph looked terrible though. It was recorded in EP mode and reeked of cheap manufacturing. I later bought an SP mode version off Ebay back in the late 90's, which looked substantially better.

Great to hear. I just watched this on VHS a few weeks ago and was surprised a dvd still wasn't available.

It doesn't look like Zombie High (or Never On Tuesday) came out anywhere at all. Either the releases were simply cancelled, or delayed.

Had a chance to watch this last night and ... meh. The ideas were pretty good, the execution however... It builds up very slowly and by the time the very slow paced action starts, I already had lost interest. It did have some cool ideas though, plus ...

Spoiler:
... the Zombie's heads exploding because of music ... kinda reminds me of the Mars Attacks ending

However, Virginia Madsen en Sherilyn Fenn in one movie ... if only for that, I don't have the feeling I've wasted my time
