Return Of The Living Dead 4
The dead will be partying again. Actor turned filmmaker William (LEATHERFACE) Butler tells Fango that he's writing RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD IV for executive producer Tom Fox. "I'm reinventing the franchise," Butler says. "My take on the sequel is a combination of martial arts, anime and horror. Tom would like to get a DAWSON'S CREEK cast in there this time, and we are beginning to talk with directors. We're also developing a RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD TV series." Butler sold his script, THE GINGERDEAD MAN, to Charles Band earlier this year, and he hopes to direct the film as well.

This is no joke. If you log onto Fangoria's site and then click on the Terror Teletype link: http://www.fangoria.com/tpage/terror...t_april_19.htm
this might work if you click on that. It is the 4th article down on the list. |

Finished Product can surprise.
Well it's easy to write something off by hearing ideas, but if the idea is excuted well, it could at least be better than Return of the living dead part 2 or 3.
At least there is a sequel in the works, they can't remake previous films, so its good to know they are atempting to revamp it, movie making sometimes require risk, I'm glad its happening, better then it not happenning! The tv series sounds good, it could work on a weekly, basis, as long they concentrate on characters you like, then the zombie stuff will be enjoyable all together. Enjoy your day/night

Return Of The Living Dead 2 Rocks!
Just to add my two cents, I also prefer # 2 over the 3rd installment. Sure it was kind of PG compared to the original but there was a campiness to it that really appealed to me. The 3rd was too dark without a large zombiefest until just about the end. Nothing will compare to the first one (or NOTLD or Dawn Of The Dead for that matter) but it's much better than most zombie flicks out there (Night Of The Zombies comes to mind...)

what's even more shocking is that Tom Fox is involved. what a sell out. "yeah, let's make a zombie flick for teens!" and please....a zombie TV series? how could that possibly work on TV without being toned down to the darkest, deepest levels of syndicated hell? |

It's so damn absurd too, and frankly doesn't make any sense whatsoever. No one has ever explaned exactly what they mean when they say "teeny bopper" in a negative connotation. Not even Dave when I asked him! What the hell does it mean? Why is it such a problem? Is it because the new young stars actually LOOK like the teen characters they are supposed to be playing? Is it because they can actually ACT, unlike the horendous 30+ years olds from horror's bygone days who were attempting to play teenagers and not pulling it off? It is some sort of jealousy that these kids are already millionairs at younger ages then some of you all are? Or is it that bandwagon elitist mentality that seems oh so popular in which such hypocritical statements as "The Burning" and "Friday the 13th part whatever" are better then any of the "Scream" or "I know what you Did Last Summer" movies? Seriously, I'd like to know? And since when did it ever fucking matter who was in a horror movie as long as it was a quality production? To use such simplistic nonsense as "teeny bopper" cast as a reason for not seeing/liking a particular movie is outrageous and honestly just plain stupid!!! Sorry, Dark Lord, this isn't a slam against you, it was your statement that was the last damn straw on this stupid shit! It just doesn't make any sense to me at all. I don't particularly care for many of the teen oriented shows on TV either, but if these actors want to branch out into movies and lend their celebrity and status to horror productions what the hell is wrong with that? Nothing! And if they are good at their craft, which many of them are regardless on how you feel about them personally, what is the problem with professional actors in horror film? Do horror films have to be badly acted by 30 years olds camping it up at teenagers to be good? Please, that's ridiculous. Not giving a film a chance based on who is in it is revoltingly narrow-minded, especially on the ignorant ideal that because so-and-so were on magazine covers before their debut in a horror film. As horror fans every one of us has suffered some sort of narrow-minded bullshit because of our interests. I've seen that in post after post as well as experienced it. It's prejudice, shallow and pathetically hypocritical... it's just as shallow to dismiss a film because one or more of the actors is/was/were in a television series geared for teenagers. I would not mind seeing a zombie flick with a "Dawson's Creek" type cast at all. I'd rather like seeing Katie Holmes get her head ripped off and her guts pulled out and munched on. |
