Wow. I always thought it would be kind of cool to see Danny Torrance and Charlie McGee hook up as adults.

The sequel sounds interesting. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

not to burst anyones bubble, but this report is bullshit. i was at the toronto interview, and this article is spinning a story where there isn't one. what happened was this: cronenberg asked king if he enjoyed looking back over his works. king responded that he did sometimes enjoy looking over his older stuff, and sometimes wondered where the characters would be now. he then proceeded to lay out a few minutes about where he had pictured Danny Torrence being. from the way he talked, i got the impression that these were ideas he had come up with a few years back. but this was definitely just king indulging in a little bit of "what if" for the receptive audience. it was a nice moment, but he certainly didn't imply that he was planning on actually writing the book. It's no fault of bloody-disgusting's, since they're just quoting another website. But this "Toronto 1st" page is definitely misrepresenting what happened. Pretty blatant rumor-mongering.

Even if he was spit balling at the time, he could of had a 2,000 page book shipped off to the editor by the end of the week. While I took any such statements from say QT with huge grains of salt, King is quite capable of making good with any of his flights of fancy.
I'm somewhat puzzled by the high regard for The Shining. I didn't find it to be a remarkable book from King, he's done better. And even much of what he's done better isn't all that great either. I'd be more interested in the Overlook Hotel. Its past, present and future. That was the more interesting character from the book.
