It looks like the remake will be miles away since a new Hellraiser sequel is already going into production!:
http://www.shocktillyoudrop.com/news...s.php?id=16239 "Sources within Clive Barker's camp have informed us of new Hellraiser (!) film that's rapidly going into production. Details are scarce at the moment, but the film is called Hellraiser: Revelations and is based on a script by Gary Tunnicliffe. Victor Garcia is sitting in the director's seat. He recently wrapped Mirrors 2 for Fox. Tunnicliffe, as you well know, has been a Hellraiser family member for years having worked on the FX for many of the sequels. We're told this is another stand-alone Hellraiser tale and shooting is expected to begin soon. Stay tuned for more details - such as, what does this mean for the remake? - as they come in." As long Doug Bradley returns as Pinhead, I'm in! |

Interesting! I hope Doug Bradley returns. Didn't Gary create that short film that's an easter egg on the Deader DVD?

I want to be excited, I do. But in reality the last few Hellraisers have been like Scooby-Doo mysteries with Pinhead showing up to "take your soul" then getting vanquished in some silly fashion in the end while yelling "noooooooo"

The last few sequels have been terrible. Why get excited about this?

so....another 10 years old script that got Pinhead and the cenobites thrown in at the last minute to get a green light? I'll check it out, but I'm not expecting much.

Straight to DVD Hellraiser sequel like the last ones?
Not interested (and I'm a big fan). I remember being exited about all the "marketing" that came with the previous sequels and then when they were finally out...*facepalm* |

Let me do a Hellraiser sequel. It would be the way part 5 should have been done, a complete mind fuck horrific and gory... And sorry, pinhead is blaise. In these films he should be the deus ex machina, not the star. Hell, I'd like to see a proper Hellraiser movie without the bastard.
Much love to Doag Bradley, he can drink me under the table. |

I actually had a Hellraiser-esque story concept from highschool that had almost the same story arc as Robin Cook's COMA.

looks like doug bradley wont be returning!
Shock Till You Drop received word this evening that the actor - who has worn the skin, leather and pins through eight Hellraiser films as Pinhead - has officially declined to reprise his role in the recently announced Hellraiser: Revelations. The ninth film in the series is a sequel that will roll cameras next month with director Victor Garcia. Will someone else slip into the skin of Pinhead or will the creative team find another way to resolve Bradley's absence?

You can't have a Hellraiser sequel without Bradley! I thought he enjoyed playing Pinhead. |
