Apollo 18

Anyone get a chance to see this trailer yet:

http://trailers.apple.com/trailers/i...llo18/trailer/

I admit that the found footage genre of horror is a little oversaturated lately, but this definitely has me intrigued.

yeah, it looks like its got some real potential. the problem with a lot of these found footage pictures is a lack of payoff. the buried body is really cool, and i hope there's an interesting story behind this, not just some minor infection that turns people crazy and then you have 28 Days Later on the moon. that would be a wasted opportunity.

Agreed, I was pretty interested in the trailer until they started playing the 'infection'/going crazy angle. I just seems kind of played out lately, and it would be a shame if thats basically what the movie boils down to...

This is the only mainstream horror film I'm looking forward to and I have fingers crossed they don't fuck it up.

TWC has apparently been playing musical chairs with the release date. First it was slated to come out last week, but it was pulled off the schedule a month before and pushed back to January 6, 2012.

Now that Final Destination 5 moved up to August 12, TWC has moved Apollo 18 out of 2012 and back to this year, in FD5's old August 26 spot.

This wasn't bad but overall I guess I was expecting a little more. The ending is what really took this from mediocre to semi worth while. The actors just didn't seem believable as every once and a while they spout out some unnaturally "clever" catch phrase. I guess I would put this on part with The Last Exorcism as far as found footage films go.

I thought it was worth a view, doubt I will buy a copy as I don't see any replay value in it.

I always hated this kind of "found footage" fare since Blair Witch. At least "stuff" happens in this film. Not bad at all. It helps that I snuck in to watch it, so I got to see it for free. I don't think I would have been upset if I did pay to see it, either. Definitely worth the cost of a rental at least.

Another cool thing is that the trailers do not give away any significant developments.

Saw this over the weekend. Not a big fan of found footage films, but this had to be about the worst one I've ever seen. Boring, predictable, and lacking in horror. Did not like any of the characters either. Disappointing as the premise had potential.

I thought it was a fun movie but I love the lost footage movies.

I haven't seen this yet & the trailer didn't thrill me, so I'm most likely gonna wait & maybe download this one or wait til it hit stores.

Possible spoiler about nature of the "found footage"

would have been better if it had just been shot straight as we are led to believe 16mm film was processed, printed and uploaded to earth.

Did they even have 16mm back then? It would have been panavision wouldn't it? Or is that the same thing?
