Return Of The Living Dead UK Blu and DVD 4/9/12

Return of The Living Dead will arrive on UK Blu-ray and DVD April 9th!:

http://homecinema.thedigitalfix.com/...-in-april.html

"Second Sight have announced the UK DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of The Return of the Living Dead on 9th April 2012. In Dan O'Bannon's cult splatterfest blundering medical supplies warehouse workers Frank and his young trainee Freddy unwittingly set off a mysterious US military chemical that brings the dead back to life.

RRP is Ģ15.99 for the DVD and Ģ17.99 for the Blu-ray. Extras include:
•The Origins of Return Of The Living Dead with John A. Russo
•The FX of The Living Dead – with production designer William Stout and FX make-up artists William Munns and Tony Gardner
•Party Time – with music consultant Steve Pross and 45 Grave singer Dinah Cancer"

Would be worth to double dip if it features the original audio.

When you guys say original audio, what do you mean exactly? The only difference I noticed on MGM's DVD was the scene where Frank is about to commit suicide by hopping into the cremation oven, the music cues are different. It's the same musical clip but it just souinds a bit different, or shortened. What else was changed?

The song, "Dead Beat Dance" by The Damned is replaced by another heavy metal track when the punks are in the car.
Tarman's voice has been altered.
"Take a Walk" by The Tall Boys is now instrumental and doesn't start after the line, "What are you guys saying!?" but instead when the punks are leaving the warehouse to find Freddy.
The "send more cops" voice has been altered.

That's all I can recall at the moment. I know these changes were made and approved by Dan O'Bannon so what MGM released is really his "director's cut", but as every other fan has said - they should include the original audio as well for the folks who don't care to have the film altered from what they're used to.

Pretty sure both voice adjustments are heard in original form over the end credits. Those always bugged me more than the tunes. I grew up on "send more cops", that shit stands out bad when changed after quoting it for decades!

I won't deny that the originol cover art is fan-fuckin-tastic, but I'm happy with my MGM combo pack. But if you're hungry for more features then I highly recommend this awesome documentary:

I pre-ordered it the other day on Amazon UK for Ģ10.99...even less once the VAT is subtracted. The artwork looks too wicked to pass up.

The "More Brains" documentary will be in full HD also, which is great.
