HauntedWeen: 20th Anniversary Edition DVD

Anyone else remember seeing this VHS cover?

Well, the forgotten Kentucky-lensed indie-slasher HauntedWeen is finally hitting DVD! Not only that, but the disc will be packed with extras!

Special Features:
- 45 minute documentary "The Making Of HauntedWeen"
- Director / Producer Commentary
- Cast & Crew Photo Gallery
- "HauntedWeen" Music Video
- Original Movie Trailer

I'm really surprised to see this getting released, but I'm extremely excited to finally check it out! I placed an order. It is currently $19.95 with free shipping, but the price rises on October 12th. The discs start shipping out on October 15th.

You can pre-order the HauntedWeen DVD at the Official Website.

I remember renting the VHS years and years ago at a mom & pop video store. I can't remember much about it anymore, but I do remember it being pretty fun.

The DVD sounds great with all the features...

I've never heard of this film before but it looks like a lot of fun. I went ahead and pre-ordered it (w/ the free shipping). I wish they used the original artwork for the DVD though it looks pretty cool. Thanks for the heads up Cap!

I found a review of the old VHS release: http://www.bleedingskull.com/vhs/hauntedween.html

That refreshes my memory somewhat. I went ahead and placed an order, since the shipping is free until the 12th. I was charged tax for some reason, but it was only $1.30

Cool. I bought one. I've seen the VHS go for $30+ on Ebay.

Hell yes! This has been at the top of my want on dvd list for years! I've loved this movie since I first rented it back in Summer of '92.

Awesome! This is definitely low budget cheesy fun. The VHS is going for like $90 on Amazon - pfft! I have a cruddy VHS rip of this so I'll gladly upgrade.

Why does the DVD cover look like Dead Birds? Kinda lame.

Also, do we see this stretching out to other retailers for any cheaper, or will it be one of those you snooze you loose and the price will sky rocket as soon as it goes OOP from these folks? I bet the latter.

I think the movie is far too obscure for the DVD to go any further than that website.

The director himself is releasing the disc, and it sounds like he is selling it primarily to those who worked on the film. The movie was a fairly homegrown production, and a lot of the community was involved in making it. They had a screening of the film there last October. Fortunately, it is available to the rest of us as well.

I found an interview where the director says he spent $7,000 transferring the film to DVD, so hopefully it will be a quality disc. I'm hoping those pictures on the site are caps from the transfer, because if so, they look great!

I doubt it will sell out or anything, but I have no idea how long it will be available on the site.
