Missing classic horror sequels that I want on BD.
Here is a list of classic horror sequels missing on blu-ray:
Psycho 2, 3, 4- maybe they will be released to tie in with the new Psycho TV series. Child's Play 2, 3, 4,5- maybe they will come out when Curse of Chucky comes out on BD. Poltergeist 3- Out in other regions since 2011. Not sure when this will be out in region A. Fright Night 2- maybe it will be released with sequel to 2011 version (direct to DVD), although probably wouldn't be. Amityville sequels- not sure when. Friday the 13th 4-10- hopefully they will come out in 2013. Omen 4- not sure if this will be released at all. Which sequels are you waiting for on BD? |

Return of the Living Dead part 2 with corrected audio would be nice
LeatherFace Texas Chainsaw Massacre part III should of been out to coincide with new film Fright Night part 2 who know if it'll ever come out Friday the 13th part 4-Jason X Hellraiser III Hell on Earth my think why echo bridge never released this film is their laserdisc workprint transfer while paramount still have the proper master Creepshow part 2 i remember reading it was going to come out through Image midnight madness series but never did not sure why? Night of the Living Dead 1968 the sequels are already on BLU but the original isnt yet in the USA unless u count that edited forgotten films release!!

Anchor Bay probably still has a sub-licensing deal with Fox, maybe they can if they're willing and able (you don't have to worry about extras since the only extra was the trailer). Another good choice is Scream Factory for a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack (good chance at getting some new stuff like a commentary). Here are mine: Phantasm I, III, and IV - I can see Anchor Bay putting the first one out before or nearing the release of the Phantasm II Collector's Edition. The release of John Dies At The End is another possible release choice. III and IV can be release at a later date, maybe next year. Scanners - MGM no longer owns it and I still think Anchor Bay can get this from the film's producer if they're willing. House IV - Not sure if New Line still owns the title. If they did, have they or Warner considered to release New Line titles through the Archive? NOTLD '68 - Criterion or Scream Factory are perfect choices for this title Quote:
Puppet Master 4 and 5 - I can see these coming out next year. That leaves into question however of the shot-on-video sequels (Curse-Legacy); can they restored good for HD? And Image probably has Vs. Demonic Toys, correct? |

Speaking of Criterion, isn't it about time they pounced on Cronenberg's They Came from Within? Wait... people actually want those on DVD? (As in- any format?)

The Ring Two - It's awful but still a guilty pleasure of mine. Would love to see the deer attack in glorious HD.

Someone needs to release the Sleepaway Camp series, at least the first three.

Sleepaway Camp is in desperate need of an upgrade. I'm suprised it's been neglected this long.

Blu-Ray came out at least 4-5 years too late to live out its' full potential. Studios are too broke or too apathetic to put any real effort into these releases. And as such, it's being used as a dumping ground mainly for mainstream blockbuster fodder. And even then, I hear more complaints than praises for things like "no bookmarks," etc. I assume this means BR isn't chapter-friendly either. Or that it's extraordinarily difficult to fast-forward through the programs. If Blu-Ray can't even get this right, this is why I continue to say "fuck 'em." Unless my untouched copies of Disney's Lady and the Tramp and Cinderella Diamond editions are worth a shit now as opposed to years from now when they're desperately OOP.

I was never a completist, but I would very much like to see:
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter - I'd probably buy the rest too. Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre - my favourite sequel in this franchise. |
