ALLEY CAT (1984) and ANGELS BRIGADE (1979) from Scorpion 3/26

A pair of chicks kickin' butt flicks coming from Scorpion this March. I haven't seen either of 'em, but I put in my preorders. I'm an easy sell. In Victor Ordonez's ALLEY CAT (1984), a top-heavy kung fu expert takes on the gangs after some thugs attack her grandparents. In Greydon Clark's ANGELS BRIGADE (1979), a group of gals band together to take on local drug lords!

Angels Brigade is fun. A Charlies Angels knockoff about a group of chicks with different skills taking down drug lords. It a tame, silly movie with a LOT OF 70's style wipes and dopey humor plus couple Greydon Clark regulars including his wife who played the reporter in JOYSTICKS and the coach in SATANS CHEERLEADERS.

I saw the trailer for Alley Cat on their Incubus DVD. Never heard of it before, but it looks like fun. I'll be picking it up.

The ANGELS BRIGADE disc will apparently have two different versions -- a brand new HD transfer of the 97-minute SEVEN FROM HEAVEN edit, along with the 86-minute ANGELS BRIGADE variant (which was lampooned on MST3K as ANGELS' REVENGE). Extras also include an interview with cinematographer Dean Cundey.

Awesome, just pre-ordered both! I hope Scorpion release more titles like this.

I always passed on renting Alley Cat back in vhs days, instead rented Streetwalkin' which was sitting right next to Alley Cat at the video rental place. Reviews makes me regret that I never did check it out.

To be fair, STREETWALKIN' is some great hookersploitation, too!
