72$!!! Hope they didn't spent too much on that one, of course the DVD and BR sales will help. But 72$ for God sakes, was that shown in one theatre for one night only?

edit: Just read the synopsis and it sounds interesting enough for a blind buy. I'll probably import it from the UK as the canadian cost is way too high for a blind buy (27.45$ for a DVD!!!!).

Edit 2 : Just order it for 7.56 (more or less 12 $CAN), not that much for taking a risk...

Wait, the fact that it only made $72 in the theater didn't dissuade you from buying it, despite the interesting synopsis?

On maybe it is like they say, and millions of, oops, I mean 6 people can't be wrong....

Not really, Texas Chainsaw 3D did almost 35 millions and I ain't interested so BO numbers meant nothing to me. The BO result meant that a lot of money was spent on marketing not that a movie is good.

The trailer isn't too bad either except for the awfull song played, I said not bad not original looking. But 12$ isn't that much if it turn awfull.

Fair enough, it's your money. And you may be right about the marketing vs. quality of a movie, though I'd guess that studios spend more to market films that they think will be good enough to make lots of money for them, and they won't spend as much to market terrible movies.

It doesn't mean, of course, that their assessment of a film's quality is accurate, but I'm glad you're taking a chance on it, instead of me. But if I'm wrong I'd be happy for you to tell me, so I can make up for missing out.

If you like SiFi Channel Originals (which I do not) you may enjoy it. I mean, it should have earned a couple of hundred dollars, at least. I've seen worse. But $72 is pretty hilarious.

I guess Magnolia is to blame.

Widest Release: 1 theater
Even the similar but quite awful Creature (2011) pulled in more money. Only $500,000 but still ...

Now I feel like kind of a heel. I actually assumed it was a typo. Maybe it made some cash overseas and on home video? It was a British movie, so hopefully Magnolia's fumble didn't ruin any careers.

From Box-Office Mojo

$372,153 (UK)
$159,030 (Turkey)
$57,590 (Hong Kong)
$57,330 (United Arab Emirates)

Not a big success but not the huge failure the US B.O. could make us believe. I don't think it was even released in my country...

The Lords of Salem entering the charts, and Evil Dead moving up a few notches.

Quick update before World War Z is unleashed this weekend: make room for Axe Giant, one of the three new entries this week
