Sadako - new Japanese ring movie (aka Ring 3)

http://www.amazon.com/Sadako-Blu-ray...ords=sadako+3d

Heard about this on the scifi japan site. Anyone see this yet? I loved the Japanese series, so I'll spring for this next month.

I love the first Ringu movie, but both part 2 and 0 was pretty dull.
The new one had itīs moments, but on a whole it was a disappointment.
Too many crappy CGI FX and 3D gags.
Canīt remember any of the scares made me jump out of my chair, as I usually do with many of these J-horror movies. Most of them failed and just made me laugh out loud.
Also the creepy atmosphere from part 1 was pretty much missing as well.

I havenīt really seen a new good J-horror movie in almost a decade now. The late 90:s and early 00 was the golden era of the genre.

Sure, "Sadako" is still okey compared to most of the J-Horror crap coming out today. Just keep your expectations low, and remember to turn of the brain before pressing play

I shut it off after 10 minutes. It was obviously going to be an exercise in style over substance with too many dodgy CGI effects shot digitally and zero creepy atmosphere, so I didn't want to waste my time.

The original Ring and Ringu are great horror movies. I'll check out this one. I haven't seen Ringu 2 yet. I saw Ring Two a while back and didn't like it that much. But I watched a bit a few days ago on HBO and found it better than I remember. I thought they were making a Ring 3D movie but I guess it's still being worked out.

I didn't find it absolutely terrible, but it is pretty bad. The script just felt rushed, and there were several blatant plot holes. A lot of the film was just plain stupid, like:

Spoiler:
WTF were those spindly Sadako "monsters" with 2 long legs or whatever? That shit looked ridiculous!

I could tell there were a lot of 3D effects...which would probably look great in actual 3D if it were an option.

Apparently there is even a sequel being made to this one: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2440362/

Katatonia--I believe those were intended to be all the bodies that were thrown into the well in a failed attempt to bring back Sadako.
