FlixMix

hiyas!

sorry if this has been posted before, but I kept forgetting to post a heads-up on this (all week long...). over at DVDFile they interviewed one of the guys behind FlixMix, AKA "Those Guys Who Did That 'Boogeymen' Compilation DVD". at any rate, they mentioned they had a "Boogeymen 2" on the drawing boards, but with a twist:

Boogeymen 2 is already in production and will come out later this year. It's going to be focused around the directors this time, the greatest, most twisted moments from the most demented minds in horror. (Laughs) With everyone from John Carpenter to Wes Craven to Tobe Hooper, and lots of international talent this time, such as Lucio Fulci and Dario Argento.

now THAT may be pretty damn cool... maybe for Boogeymen 3 they can do Goriest Scenes Ever. check out the whole article, it's pretty damn cool and informative:

I've seen that Boogeymen disc around, but haven't been too interested.

Is it any good?

I saw the "Ultimate Fights" special on USA Network, and it seemed like it was from the same people.

Yeah, I thought that Boogeymen disc was a huge letdown. Most of the clips, other than the ones for ANOES and TCM were poorly chosen or misframed. The Englund commentary was decent, but there really wasn't anything that us horror fans didn't already know. The running Trivia could have been an interesting feature, but again it was too slow and with little meaningful information. The "name that frame" game was kind of fun though, and the trailers were a good inclusion. But still, this was definitely a missed opportunity. The second one will have to be a major improvement if it is going to find its way into my collection.

I thought that this disc was ok. I'm looking forward to checking out the new Boogeymen 2 disc and the upcoming Flixmix on best action sequences. These discs are put together really well, they just need to use better clips. But the flix facts they run at the bottom make it worth the price.

My first thought when this came out was ,"Why would I buy this ,when I have most of the movies in full?"

I really don't see the point in this.
