Alida Valli one of Italy's greatest actresses died recently (yesterday or today?).Just read it on teletext.Couldn't find details on the net though.Perhaps someone found a link?She was 84. RIP I think I'll watch Suspiria tonight...

She was a wonderful actress.Although she did fine work in the Italian horror films mentioned,she was perhaps best remembered for Sir Carrol Reed's classic film,THE THIRD MAN(often cited as one of the best films ever made) and Hitchcock's THE PARADINE CASE.Really a screen great,she deserved to be better known in the States.
