Some from the last thread that are STILL true:

1. The Beatles were crap.

2. Elvis Presley should have died younger, then we wouldn't have had to deal with the shite he shovelled up over the years. He died on a toilet for goodness sakes. He was probably delivering a new song, but it was obviously too long, a concept album perhaps?

3. John Lennon got shot. Oh well.

4. Kurt Cobain got shot. Oh well.

5. Carpenter's The Fog is complete and utter garbage.

6. You're overweight, and no amount of posting otherwise on HorrorDVD's will make it otherwise.

With but a few exceptions (Alice Cooper, The Misfits), any musical act that tries to put horror-based themes into their songs suck. Really bad.

some more:

Most "extended" versions are a waste of time. The theatrical cut is almost always better. (exception is when it's studio-enforced cuts)

on that note, the theatrical cut of The Wicker Man (original) is the only way it should be seen.

Horror fans spend WAY too much time climbing over themselves to get import versions just for an extra 3 seconds or something stupid like that.

Horror fans are too spoiled, demanding DVD transfers that look better than the way they did in the theater. Concentrate on the MOVIE, not how it looks.

Most people who don't like Asian horror hate it because they can't keep up with subtitled movies.

Wrong in my case, however. A great deal of my non-genre film watching consists of subtitled movies.

Oh, and I thought Friedkin's BUG was one of the most unintentionally hilarious films I've seen in a while.

Nope. I love foreign films, and have no problems with subtitles what-so-ever. But I just can't get into Asian horror, no matter what I watch.

* People who don't watch movies because they are subtitled should be fined x-amount of dollars and forced to learn how to read.

I feel the same way about Mexican horror movies. Everytime I put one on the TV I fall asleep.

Re: Mexican movies.

I like the goofier ones like THE BRAINIAC, but a lot of the ones that are supposed to be "good" have the same effect on me [falling asleep.]

1. Argento, Fulci, and Italian horror are overrated. Yes, there's some thrill of discovery when you're first exposed to the stuff, but after a while you realize that it's kind of retarded.

2. Movies need more nudity. Boobs, butts, and beavers are where it's at. Agreed that naked chicks might not make a movie better, but they sure don't make it worse.

3. Asian movies and comics are incomprehensible to me. Much of it is so culture-specific that I just can't get into it.

4. CGI still looks fake. Especially in horror movies.

5. Metallica's Load and Re-Load are better than the black album. Not by much, but...

6. Steven Spielberg's only really good movies are Jaws, CE3K, Poltergeist, and the Indiana Jones movies. 1941 should've been a warning.

7. Expensive wine (over $10 a bottle) tastes like crap.

8. Bikini waxing and shaving suck. Women should look like women, not pre-pubescent girls or Barbie dolls. Keep the pubes, ladies.

Oh, while we're on the Asian kick, if Kill Bill had been made by some obscure Japanese director, Asian film fans would have been all over it, calling it a "throwback to the good ol' days" and praising the homages to classic films. But since it was directed by an obnoxious white man, it's a "ripoff"
