Does anyone know if the New Welcome To The Grindhouse DVD 'Double Feature' of Mausoleom/Blood Song Cut? Actually I was trying to find out if Mausoleum is Cut. I was reading a Review on Amazon and someone said that the Version of Mausoleum was a Cut Version and that the Embassy VHS is Uncut. Anyone know if this is true or not? I was going to buy the DVD but if the VHS is Uncut then I will buy that instead of the DVD.

Thanks for that info.
So, the Embassy VHS Tape is a Longer Cut of the Film? It has that scene intact that you were talking about? |

i live in the uk and all the releases over here are longer than the new US dvd, i can't comment on the embassy vhs or the laserdisc release but the new US dvd is cut, so if the embassy vhs and laserdisc are the same as the dvd then you've only ever had the cut version.

I bought it at bestbuy for like seven bucks, and it's the same cut i know and it was easily worth the money and an extremely enjoyable double feature. On my big screen hd lcd I actually felt like i was at a grindhouse theatere. It's cheap as hell and anamorphic, just buy it

There's a recent disc review on here, with screen shots: http://www.horrordvds.com/viewarticle.php?articleid=700

Yeah, I just popped in my Embassy VHS and compared the scene at the begining of the BCI DVD and they are identical. Looks like the UK disc is the only uncut version then?

Okay, i'm confused again.
If the DVD is the same cut as the Embassy vhs...and the Embassy vhs was uncut...how is the DVD cut?

Well, I haven't gotten this on DVD yet, but I do have the Embassy VHS, maybe I'll just hang onto it for a little while longer.

There's the face scratch too that's been abridged. It's cut from the UK version, but still plenty gory and a great film. Considering the price, it's definitely worth checking out, at any rate.

If I am understanding everything correctly, the film was cut in the US for an R Rating, which is the only version anyone here has ever been exposed to...so the Embassy VHS and the BCI DVD are the "uncut" US theatrical version. The overseas releases (or at least the UK release at any rate) contains the full version of the film.

The DVD and the US Embassy and Nelson VHS's are cut versions of the film. The head popping in the first scene and when she seduces the gardener (the stomach ripping) are two scenes I noticed. I believe there are two versions of the Embassy VHS - one cut and one uncut, but I'm not positive. The VHS I had from Nelson was definitely cut (blue box) and a friend of mine had a cut Embassy version. I have a bootleg DVD version that is uncut, but I'm not sure of the source - either a laserdisc rip or vhs. I was always under the impression Embassy released two versions.

Thanks for all of the info. I can pick up an Embassy VHS of this Movie for $2, so I may just get that. It sounds like there is more picture information on the Embassy VHS according to the Horror DVDS Review on this site. On a Movie like this, you don't want to lose any Gore or Any of Bobbie Bresee!!
