What happened to Friday the 13th 4-8 on Blu-Ray?
I know none of these titles were announced, but seeing how they released 1-3 on Blu-Ray to go along with the DVD Deluxe Editions, I would think they would eventually get the rest of the sequels in high def. Anyone has any idea why they haven't yet released parts 4-8 on Blu-Ray yet? It has almost been a year since the last F13th Blu-Ray release.

Who knows. I'm sure they'll eventully be released, but maybe the sales of the first three Blus weren't what they expected.

Probably waiting for the sequel to the remake to hit theatres. Remember, part 1 came out on blu-ray along with parts 1, 2 and 3 in SE DVDs when the remake hit theatres. Then the blu-rays of parts 2 and 3 and the SEs of parts 4, 5 and 6 came out when the remake came out on DVD/blu-ray. Then parts 7 and 8 came out in time for Halloween (can't totally explain why the blus didn't come out then) but I think it's safe to assume that they're coming out on blu-ray when the sequel hits theatres.

I have to agree with Matt on this. Kat might also have hit a nerve. I Already have deluxe editions for 4-8. Hopefully they add some more stuff or no double dip.

i heard a rumor that part 2 and 3 blu-rays came out because of the sales of part 1 on blu-ray and that parts 2 and 3 didn't sell so well on blu-ray that 4-8 is on hold for now not sure if that is true or not
i do know for a fact that 1-8 deluxe edition dvds really sold well though

I agree. As long as they box set both formats (assuming the other entries come out on blu).

Yeah they really need to put out a nice box set of all the deluxe editions. I rented the first one and thought it was awesome but I'm not gonna purchase until I can straight replace my 'Crystal Lake to Manhattan' set with another set of 1-8.
Oh and for christ's sake would it be impossible for Paramount and New Line to fucking collaborate just once and put together a definitive Friday set? Fans would love it and both companies would make bank for sure.

If they do a box set I'd like to see some exclusives to the set. If I remember correctly, the first three Friday re-releases were put together by different people than the guys who did the 4-8 dvds. I read in an article that there may still be stuff in the vaults for 1-3.

At the very least, I hope they give us Blu-ray releases of 4-6. Jason Lives was the last really good Friday, although I do enjoy the 2009 remake and Freddy vs Jason to a certain extent.

Judge Smails summed up Paramount's stance on this one: "You'll get nothing and like it!"
I've been waiting for the (hopefully) inevitable box set as well. |

I don't hate 6, but i'd rather watch 7 any day of the week!
and yeah, i should have been more specific...im waiting for a blu-ray box set. but i dont think it will completely replace the crystal lake to manhattan box, since virtually none of the supplements from that set were carried over. I'll be keeping that set. |
