Pretty big fan of Elvira...my fascination with her started during my childhood when I'd go grocery shopping with my mother...grocery shopping in October meant the Coors Elvira cardboard standees came out on display and I'd be able to catch a glimpse of those cans of hers.

I kinda of misread the title of this thread though...I initially thought Shout! Factory would be releasing more of MM on DVD, which would have been fantastic, but as I read the post I was kind of disheartened. I really don't think the audience is there anymore. I know I'll be watching it, but I really think the general public isn't going to "get it".

I do hope it succeeds though, I can't wait. I just hope they play "older" bad movies, as I have a feeling they may try and modernize the show a tad.

And I agree, Cassandra Peterson is the only person that can portray Elvira.

Full Details for Elvira's Return to TV from Shock Till You Drop:
Quote:
Not long ago, we hinted that Elvira's Movie Macabre would be returning to television this fall.

Over the weekend, the busty horror hostess herself revealed that her show will premiere on THIS! Television and in national syndication throughout the U.S. the weekend of September 25 (see local listings for station/day/time).

The weekly two-hour movie block is distributed by Trifecta Entertainment & Media, and will air on television stations representing more than 80% of U.S. households.

"All I can say is, IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!" Elvira said.

"Elvira will be every bit as relevant as the first day she burst onto the scene; a beautiful opinionated woman who always delivers just what her audience expects from her," says Hank Cohen, CEO/Partner, Trifecta Entertainment. "At Trifecta, we take pride in bringing proven and trusted brands to the syndicated marketplace; Elvira is a time-tested and wildly successful brand unto herself and her new show perfectly exemplifies our strategy."

Elvira's Movie Macabre is a 34D Production and is written and produced by Cassandra Peterson and Ted Biaselli.

Which really makes sense. THIS! network is really just geared to making value of MGM's catalog. Putting Elvira's package on 'em can help make 'em much more enticing.

We can get it over the air in Chicago, as well as cable.

It's one of those over-the-air, in-between-the-big-numbers digital broadcast channels. We get it here in metro Detroit (channel 4.2).

I'm looking forward to this, especially since she will presumably have access to the MGM library. If she was stuck showing the same public domain standbys as every other host, I'd probably pass. Our local guy, Wolfman Mac, puts on a good show, but it's hard staying awake through The Wasp Woman and The Giant Gila Monster no matter how they're presented.

We are actually supposed to have Wolfman Mac now here on a local station that shows the "RTV" Line-up, but, much to my dismay, when I tuned in at 11:00 tonight, I was greeted by local news and then some lame entertainment tonight knock-off. Sadly, we still have "Off-Beat Cinema" at midnight....and it's TERRIBLE!

I'm really hoping for some Elvira this fall!
