THE HORDE - French Zombies!
After you've seen Haute Tension, Inside, Frontier(s), and Martyrs, what do you watch next to get your fix of modern French horror?
Try THE HORDE aka La Horde. I watched this online the other night and was very impressed. This is the "28 days later" type of fast moving zombie. The Horde has good characters and plot with just a dash of dark humor, and very bloody special effects. The last 30 minutes are insane! I've seen nearly every zombie movie made, and in my opinion, this one ranks up there with the best of 'em. |

Yeah i saw it today on DVD. Pretty good but some logic jumps, but well thats a Zombie film i guess.
Simple things like not knowing how to kill them but then knowing they are infectious............you know that kind of iffy thing most zombie films deal with

I watched this some time ago and had mixed feelings; For me it had the 'double edged sword' of being a typical 'unexplained' zombie flick, we don't know where or why the zombies are there or what exactly is going on in the outside world, the classic zombie archetype. I like that sometimes, however at the same time that formula is getting really stale, its the same shtick, different location.
The violence and gore is good, had some nice action set pieces, but also had some scenes that were just awkward and dragged on for far too long, giving jarring halts inbetween frantic action. I also really did not like the ending. I'd recommend checking it out, but I'm glad I watched it before blind buying.

They could even give the new ones nicks like Puppies or Hatchlings.

That's a pretty cool idea. I'm surprised it hasn't been done yet.
