Thanks for chiming in and setting the record straight. Glad to see you guys are still kicking and just playing it smart in a softer market.

I'm really looking foward to the Zombi Holocaust Blu! Any chance of Burial Ground getting the blu ray treatment in the future

Awesome, glad MB will still be around and the rumors are dispelled!

Oh, and I've sent you an email about a DVD question I've been trying to find the answer to for several years.

So... Whoever give Rhett the wrong info must be the culprit.

Just looking through that Shriek Show list and realized I had 85 of those titles. Man, it is good to know things are still going. Mark me down for getting Death Kappa when it comes out!!!!!

Glad to hear what seems to be good news, though I will confess that the last couple of days sent me into a minor panic, causing me to buy a few SS titles I didn't want to miss out on.

The AV Maniac is definitely a different person. The guy I spoke to had said that what the AV Maniacs poster was saying seemed mostly true given his correspondence with the people that remain. He never said anything definitively either way, that was based more upon my conjecture given the facts at hand. He stopped working for the company in May, same time as several others according to the Maniacs post. There certainly is truth to the fact that Media Blasters has become a much smaller company as of late, which still admittedly is cause for a little concern. Still kicking, though, which is great to see. My contact also said that a transfer for Buio Omega was done, which John confirmed, so dancing bananas to that.

I'm looking forward to Death Kappa and (hopefully) their many Toho and Italian zombie movies on Blu.

Keep in mind that Rhett's source was very likely a laid-off employee. You will rarely hear someone who's been laid off say "Well, the company is doing gangbusters, but they still let me go". Many people have tunnel vision. As they go, so does the company.

I too hope Media Blasters sticks around, and if they have to trim things to stay in business, then that's what has to happen. Now admittedly, sometimes layoffs are the first step for a company that is already in a death spiral, but other times it's a necessary evil in order to weather a storm. Let's hope it's the latter.

Gods be praised! haha

I'm fickle about DVD companies anymore anyway. I'd love to work with you guys someday, but I am ok. You are ok.

We're all ok.

Media Blasters has announced that it has formed a partnership with the media distribution giant Allegro Media Group. Key Media Blasters' labels AnimeWorks -specializing in Japanese animation-, Tokyo Shock -specializing in Asian film-, and Shriek Show -specializing in horror-, will now be distributed through Allegro. With this partnership, Media Blasters will now "focus on localizing properties for the US market, developing new features and series, and producing the highest possible quality DVD, Blu-Ray, and digitally distributed releases," said John Sirabella, President and CEO of Media Blasters.

Hopefully this help them make announced street dates. I'm still waiting on the Beyond the Darkness Blu-Ray that I preordered six months ago.
