If its really going to be a 35 years later sequel to the original (ignoring all the sequels and remakes) then I would think Gunner is a no brainer.

Of course its a hollywood remake so that might count against it.

It's not even that I'm just tired of them giving these franchises to director's who say they are fans of the original/s & then make a movie that misses the mark entirely.

The buzzz is back—and so is Bill Moseley. THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 actor is set to star in THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D a.k.a. LEATHERFACE 3D.

According to Dread Central, Moseley (who played Chop-Top in Tobe Hooper’s 1986 CHAINSAW sequel) will essay a character named Drayton—a nod to Jim Siedow, who played Drayton Sawyer in the first two TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACREs.

TAKERS director John Luessenhop is set to helm THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D from a script by Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus and Stephen Susco, with the most recent drafts by Kirsten Elms and Luessenhop. The movie will be a direct sequel to Hooper’s 1974 film. The story centers on Heather, who travels with friends to Texas in order to collect an inheritance—an inheritance that comes with a cousin who goes by the name of Leatherface. THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D is continuing casting for a summer shoot in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Special needs. Leatherface is more than likely, technically, a special needs child, now adult, so he has to have a legal guardian. This might be the most accurate thing in the film, but I'm interested anyway.

More than likely though, she will inherit the farm/property, and find Leatherface hiding somewhere on it.

How the Texas police can't put it together he was the big fucker with chainsaw and let him free is beyond me. Maybe he's found not guilty by insanity or something. Hopefully it doesn't turn into an afetrschool special about bad parents made Leatherface, and now without the family he's a big non-killing teddy bear.

What? Why are they not going to film this in Texas? The only other Chainsaw film that was not shot in Texas was Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III (1990) and it (along with part 4: The Next Generation - which was shot in and around Austin during the Summer of 1993) was among the worst of the bunch.
