This is ridiculous. I'm not going to pay for a DVDr when a pressed disc exists. Hopefully the other studios don't start doing this as well. The only other one I can think of was Universal with their Vault edition of A Bronx Tale, whose HBO DVD had gone OOP. But I just read that Uni is re-releasing Bronx on pressed DVD in January, so who the hell knows what's going on with the studios these days!

Well from what I've seen at least the MOD releases do lower the prices on the OOP factory pressed DVDs on eBay. I was able to get Gaslight for less than $15 after the MOD release, it was going triple that.

Warner has also re-issued one title onto factory pressed DVD from originally releasing it on MOD. That'd piss me off a little bit if I bought the DVD-R. There's a real damned if you do damned if you don't going on with that logic.

Many of the major studios are just going ultra-cheap. If it's not the cheap manufacturing and flimsy cases, it's MOD reissues of previous silver releases.

Warner's practices annoy me more than any other studio though. Sure, they do a lot of things right, but they do a hell of a lot of things wrong too.

I have a copy off an old VHS. I've always liked the film, but I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic scifi.

I need to get it as well since my copy is actually off of TV & is probably highly cut and not widescreen either.

I'm not finding anything on amazon about these, or at least ones I'm looking into. Is 'Things to do in Denver' gonna be anamorphic this time? Might be worth an upgrade from the old letterbox disc, or maybe I'll keep holding out for Blu. I can't imgine any of thse getting BD's soon if they are relegated to MOD dvr's though....

DIGITAL BITS said they were, and I DID find BLOOD FROM THE MUMMY'S TOMB. Personally, none of these interest me. I'm waiting for the likes of THE BRAIN (1989) and, perhaps, THE FINAL TERROR.

Dear Frankie is a really good movie, but there is already a legit DVD out there. Actually, I'm pretty sure there are actual DVDs out there for several of those titles. Looks like a lot of Miramax stuff. Very disappointing, not what I was expecting from LionsGate.
