Wow .. not only has it been a lame year for horror so far, but it looks like it's not getting any better.
Apart from Cabin in the Woods, there's nothing very interesting coming out. Boo.

Anyone on here seen The Innkeepers ?
edit: Oh yeah, poster Shawn Francis started not one, but two threads on the film, so there's plenty of fan talk to read. Sounds like a decent film; will rent. And @ Underworld taking the top spot.

The Cabin in the Woods enters the charts. Release dates for Piranha 3DD and V/H/S.

It's so very sad that The Devil Inside made more then Cabin in the Woods.

This year has really sucked when it comes to mainstream horror. Almost feels like the 90s again. LOL

Sobering figures for The Innkeepers, really a shame that films far removed from the proven formula of Hollywood bombast, big effects and cgi are usually categorically neglected.
The Devil Inside figures are crazy, that is a film I would have pegged as a bomb for sure. |

Would you guys consider THE RAVEN as horror ? The Poe mashup certainly plays like a period slasher film.

Playback made $264? I am skeptical if that figure. Same for anything below The Moth Diaries and it's $4,000 intake.
The worst part of the list so far is that only the top 6 have gotten any sort of major release. I'm sure The Innkeepers did great considering the very limited theather access it had (does thaf figure include Innkeepers on demand debut? It did have a different business model). If Juan of the Death had opened anywhere other than limited showings at Alamo Drafthouse I would have jumped in. ABCs of Death looks promising but I question the wisdom of opening just after Halloween and not before. Last edited by Undeadcow; 05-27-2012 at 08:15 PM. |

The Apparition trailer dropped recently, and it looks to be another run-of-the-mill, PG-13 pile of shit with scury ghosts.
To the OP, House at the End of the Street is a horror film coming out later this year (9/21), but it also looks like trash so it's no big deal. It's pretty sad that the horror flick I'm most looking forward to seeing is The Loved Ones, from 2000-fuckin'-9. I guess Paramount finally picked it up for domestic distribution.
